The stairs leading to the rooms are very narrow and steep, which may be difficult for guests with mobility issues.

Great accommodation very close to the cathedral

The location is very central, close to the Sint Baaf Cathedral and the room was spacious. The check-in was at the counter at the café and the man who handled my reservation was very friendly. I wanted to have breakfast earlier than the official start and they kindly prepared it for me so that I can help myself.

Weekend getaway

Amazing location, very kind personnel, and clean&spacious room! Great value for money for a weekend in Ghent with a full fulfilling breakfast🫰🏼 We were on the very last floor, but that was not a problem at all and the stairs were relatively normal for Belgian/Dutch standards.

The staff were excellent. There is no parking on site but there is a public car park nearby with EV charging. The room was great and the hotel ideally located. We stayed at the hotel for food, which was great!

Very disappointed, no more then a hostel

Not a lot ! Cafe attached to hostel !! Was very quaint, breakfast was quite nice Location good

From start 6 flights of very narrow steep stairs with luggage to our room, no were to hang clothes only on a hat stand no hangers, no TV, bedding and towels very old and well used, one light bulb working in a 5 bulb ceiling light. Clothes had to remain in suitcase on a spare bed, gaps in floor boards ☹️

Convenient location and decent breakfast included. Waitress who helped me check in at the café was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed in Room B. The small door onto the balcony didn't close properly so it was quite noisy during my stay. It also meant mosquitos were in my room as I have plenty of bites this morning and could hear some buzzing around. Understand it's an old building and the stairs didn't give me trouble, but would be cognisant if you have trouble climbing stairs

Very central location

I didn't appreciate that you had to go through a cafe to check in and enter the rooms. My mistake if this is in the description. The stairs to access the rooms are very steep and narrow, really tricky with luggage. Didn't think the room was particularly clean and no room service provided on the second day..

Sensational location, great service, very friendly and superb value for money.

The room, bed and facilities were all excellent. Great atmosphere and location. Very friendly staff and met quite a few local residents from the area which made my experience wonderful.

Parking is quite expensive at the local car park. As we all travelled by motorcycle, we found that the nearest park we left our bikes was not open to motorcycles. No notice before entry! No fault of the hotel, only should be noted.

Great little hotel

Great little hotel. It is above a lovely cafe that was well attended. The room was a good size with a kettle and good selection of coffee. Nice bathroom with a good shower. The breakfast was very good with enough variety to set us up for the day. The location is very good and the public car park was a short walk away (€16 per 24 hours). Perfect for our 2 night stay. We were on the top floor and there is a fair few narrow stairs but for me that added to the charm.

It is in a busy location with a bit of street noise so had to sleep with the window shut and it was very hot weather during our stay.

Lovely boutique style hotel

It was good location, and lovely place! Some kind as boutique hotel, very authentic and that was lovely!

Maybe it was too noisy in the morning, but hotel is in central place so it’s understandable, breakfast was 7/10, but warm buns were so delicious :)

We would definitely stay there again, the staff were amazing.

Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. Stairs were very steep (usual in that area), the staff carried our suitcases up to our room and back down again when we left. Bed was comfortable. We had dinner there and it was so good that we ate there every night (3 nights). Reasonable prices, the locals like it here.

Room was comfortable, very well located but still quiet. Breakfast was just right for me and I had dinner there one evening and it was delicious too.

The stairs but I was expecting that and on arrival and when I left, the staff kindly offered to help bringing one of my bags up.

A great friendly place with a great location

The room was very comfortable and spacious and had an excellent view. The location was fantastic and was only a 15 minute walk from the Dampoort station, but only 2 minutes to the very centre of the town. I had lunch when I arrived at the cafe and it was really good and the service was excellent. Breakfast was good and had a good selection, it was a really nice place.

Sadly, not suitable for our stay, great shame.

Central location, good breakfast, friendly staff.

The room had no facilities for hanging or storing clothes, which was remarkable considering the large size of the room. We were given room A as my wife did not fancy climbing up two more flights of very steep, narrow stepped staircases (I understand, this is not uncommon in older Flemish buildings). What this did mean was noise coming from the cafe below until 02:20 and restarting about 06:00 which meant very little sleep for us. In the end, we returned our key and booked elsewhere for the second night.

A charming bar/café offering nice rooms and good service - it certainly ticked all my boxes.

A charming little gem in the middle of the city centre, with a lovely paved square outside with tables and chairs to sit at and watch the passing cyclists and locals. The room was cavernous, unfortunately for me it was right at the top in the loft so required negotiating three flights of narrow steps to get to it, but that isn't a criticism, it is rather typical of the old buildings in beautiful cities like Ghent. The large dormer window in the room did allow for a lovely view and a cool breeze on a balmy summer's evening. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. Rather handy with it being a bar/cafe as a nice selection of beers and good coffee was available. Very handy too being able to park my motorcycle directly outside the café on the pavement!

Great for a short stay with small luggages.

The staffs are friendly and the room is cosy + spacious. It is located just at the outskirt of the tourism region and has connection to many places, even by foot. The price is really good considering that it includes breakfast.

Not really a criticism, but maybe a friendly reminder. As other reviews have mentioned, the stairs are quite narrow and steep. It might not be convenient if you have big luggages or are not comfortable with climbing steep stairs.

The staff were all lovely and helpful, the room had everything I needed, the shower was excellent (I'd stayed in another hotel just before with a bad shower system, and it made me appreciate the one here much more!). Very good WiFi in the room. Everything was clean.

I can't fault any facilities of the room or the staff, but the location is over a busy street and the soundproofing is somewhat non-existent, so there can be a lot of street noise late into the night. Also a mosquito got into the room and ruined my sleep one night, although I noticed one of those plug in repellents was left on the side in the room, which seemed to work the second night. Maybe it would be good to highlight this to guests.
