The hotel sits next to the canal and a historical landmark Geeraard de Duivelsteen. The interior is chic and cozy. The location was GREAT! About less than 10 minutes walk you will hit the old town of Ghent and 15 minutes at the Castle of the Counts. We love the fact that they have many big lockers to deposit your luggages with combinations which was very convenient for us since we arrived 3 hrs early than check-in time. If you drive to Ghent, the parking near the hotel is the Parking Reep (24/7). It’s literally 2 minutes walk down the street. For two nights we stayed it was about 43 euro which isn’t bad at all for its location. Hotel staff was very professional and friendly. They also let us know in the message what we need to do if we drive up there.
Honesty we couldn’t think of anything we disliked about this place.

The location is perfect, although we did not get to go to the centre. We were visiting friends and chose this accommodation because of its proximity to our friends home.
Check in with a computer - went well but felt a bit unnecessarily impersonal.
Room was brilliantly clean and well equipped,
Unfortunately no coffee maker of any sort - and on the Monday morning every coffee house we saw was closed. So bring your own!
There is a sign warning of a fine of 25 euros if you fail to do the dishes. Weird? Weird!
Housekeeping opened the door without knocking!!!! At 10.30 AM exactly 30 minutes before latest checkout. Unfortunately we missed the DNB sign - so you have no way to warn housekeeping that you want them to wait AND they come in without knocking, or they try to come in and when they hear that someone is taking a shower they open the door and back off. I found this unacceptable.
There was also some strange noise during the night that sounded like steps - no idea what it was but it went on for a while.

I had a good night sleep
Feels dirty. The sofa as bed, not the best. If it was a double bed with mattress would be much better. It was very cold.
