Definitely book again if we ever return

The hotel sits next to the canal and a historical landmark Geeraard de Duivelsteen. The interior is chic and cozy. The location was GREAT! About less than 10 minutes walk you will hit the old town of Ghent and 15 minutes at the Castle of the Counts. We love the fact that they have many big lockers to deposit your luggages with combinations which was very convenient for us since we arrived 3 hrs early than check-in time. If you drive to Ghent, the parking near the hotel is the Parking Reep (24/7). It’s literally 2 minutes walk down the street. For two nights we stayed it was about 43 euro which isn’t bad at all for its location. Hotel staff was very professional and friendly. They also let us know in the message what we need to do if we drive up there.

Honesty we couldn’t think of anything we disliked about this place.

Brilliant place, great for business stay, bring your own coffee

The location is perfect, although we did not get to go to the centre. We were visiting friends and chose this accommodation because of its proximity to our friends home. Check in with a computer - went well but felt a bit unnecessarily impersonal. Room was brilliantly clean and well equipped,

Unfortunately no coffee maker of any sort - and on the Monday morning every coffee house we saw was closed. So bring your own! There is a sign warning of a fine of 25 euros if you fail to do the dishes. Weird? Weird! Housekeeping opened the door without knocking!!!! At 10.30 AM exactly 30 minutes before latest checkout. Unfortunately we missed the DNB sign - so you have no way to warn housekeeping that you want them to wait AND they come in without knocking, or they try to come in and when they hear that someone is taking a shower they open the door and back off. I found this unacceptable. There was also some strange noise during the night that sounded like steps - no idea what it was but it went on for a while.

Feels dirty. The sofa as bed, not the best. If it was a double bed with mattress would be much better. It was very cold.

Great location, lovely studio's with seating space as well and all clean.

No tea in the room only coffee, half a toilet paper roll which was not enough for a few days and no cleaning in between so if you stay multiple nights its not that nice.

Worth the money but not recommended for summer time

+ modern room and nice building with many rooms + baby cots provided, me and my friend together have two babies + walking distance to city center + Located in quiet district + Locker area, washrooms before check in and after check out time + small kitchen with basic supplies

- now airconditioning during summer is quite warm - during summer, we had to open the windows and welcomed mosquito... Our babies got stung - inflexible strict check in time not even a minute earlier - shower room door makes so much noise when opening, semi-transparent so when someone is sleeping, you make noise and a lot of light shines through

Having a kitchen in the room was great, as was the furniture and size of the room.

Bathroom was a bit odd with glass walls, a noisy door and a shower which was difficult to reach. No AC was slightly frustrating too.

Not worth of money

Location Luggage Storage

Before arrival, they sent an email from their own server to request to check in online. It went to my junk emails. Why not include the portal details on the msg via booking.com. Extremely frustrating unhelpful.It’s not 24 hrs reception. It has a sign in the entrance reception closed between 11:00 to 15:00(if I remember correctly) basically you can’t request early check in. Staffs are not friendly at all. Room is not clean. It’s very warm in the room without AC. Have to open window and lots of mosquitoes!Fan is full of dust. Even has a sign of €20 fine not cleaning the kitchen. This fine completely marked this hotel down as they should clean it as part of the service. The room’s deco looks great in photo but actually is quite dirty.

Great location, spacious but lacks some basic aspects

The location was walkable to the city centre. It was spacious.

Lot of flaws in the way the room is made. It's meant for 3 people but there's no privacy with glass walls in the washroom . Significant Water slips out of bath area. Not enough lighting. We requested for coffee sachets in the room - even after noting down the request at the reception and promising to deliver in the room, it never happened

Very smooth.

This was my second time at Getaway Studios, eveything is great about this place, location, personla, cleanliness...etc. You have public undergorund car parking just infornt of the building.

Nothing but it would be perfect if there was a handheld shower, there is only ceiling shower.

Nice studio apartment in a good location

Location. It is a short walk to the center. Tram line around the corner. The Superior Studio is a good size for a small family. It’s comfortable. The reception lent us an umbrella for the rainy day.

It’s not service unless requested at a cost. There are dead mosquitos all over the walls. We were informed check out time is 11am, however at 10:15am the cleaner was getting into the room. When the cleaner realised we were still in, then, he knocked to ask if we were leaving. It felt disorganised.

Perfect location, perfect room, perfect staff!

The location was perfect. It was located in a quiet area and a short walk to all our activities. The front staff was kind and inviting and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and provided a lot of room for our family. We also very much appreciated the free luggage storage which we used upon our early arrival.

Spacious, modern and very comfortable stay

The room was soooo spacious, comfortable and nice. It had it own kitchenette which is super handy if you want to cook your own meals to save some money. Staff is really friendly and helpful!

Getaway to prison

The Hotel Getaway would be better called "Throw Away". My family (3 people) spent four nights there over New Year's Eve/New Year's Day 2023/24. Nowhere you can find anything about the history of this dark, barrack-like building, which is now called a hotel, but despite the high accommodation prices (the equivalent of € 66 per person/per night), it only achieves hostel status at best. We had a large room that was so poorly equipped with lamps and had so few sockets that we could barely read our travel books. The heating warmed the room sufficiently, but not the freezing cold bathroom, which was only separated from the room by glass panels that did not allow any intimacy. Towels were only provided once, there was no soap and not even a washing-up sponge in the kitchenette. The three of us only had one access card - which was also needed to pass through the corridor inside the building and get outside. All in all, it had the atmosphere of a prison - the only thing missing were iron bars on the windows. To make matters worse, there was a heavy gate to the inner courtyard, which was opened regularly, even very early in the morning. This made such a loud noise that we had the impression that a train was crossing the corridor in our room.

Love it

It is located less than 5 minutes walk from St. Bavon's Cathedral and a few minutes from a Carrefour (supermarket), a pharmacy and several restaurants/coffee shops. We arrived from the train station using the tram, it is only a few blocks away (5 minutes walk with luggage). The studio was large, with everything you need for a short stay, including a shower kit (shampoo and soap). I liked how clean it was, for me that is the most important thing in an accommodation. It also had a nice smell that lasted until the last day. The attention in the lobby during check-in was special and they have a large reserved space with security lockers to store luggage, and being so close to the centre is very convenient. I would definitely repeat.

The accommodation does not offer coffee or the essentials to prepare it (coffee, sugar, sweetener or a coffee maker) and we missed it a lot, almost all accommodations do. Apart from that, there is not much to complain about, I enjoyed it very much.
