The stay did not meet with my expectations

The location of the hotel was very good and the initial impression was also Good .

The room decor was very dated and in poor condition. The ceiling had peeling wood chip wallpaper and the paint was flaking in the bathroom. At breakfast the wait to be served was a very long time.

Exceptional, really fantastic, thoroughly enjoyable, had an amazing time.

Staff were really friendly, Ross on Reception was extremely helpful and welcoming, and the lady manager was very friendly. Hotel had welcoming, relaxed, quiet feel. Room was clean, extremely quiet (slept superbly, no noise at all except the sound of the sea which was heaven). Breakfast was delicious, cooked well, waitresses were very helpful. Parking out front was available, several free spaces, was able to leave my car after check-out for a walk down the beach. Visited beginning of November, Xmas decs up, coloured lights along beach, fireworks, everything lovely!

Would have liked a bath, but the shower was really lovely and hot, so it didn’t matter at all. There were hand sanitiser door handles dispensing hand sanitiser on the front door, I can understand why they were there, but could not open front door without having to hold onto handles dispensing sanitiser; option to open door without this may be nice, but it wasn’t a problem.

Room was lovely and clean. Staff was lovely as had a mix up with the room but it got sorted with no issues Breakfast was brilliant

The bar and restaurant staff were very helpful.

The room was very tired and needs renovation. When I walked into the ensuite for the first time there was a puddle on the floor. As the shower and toilet were side by side I didn’t know which item the leak was coming from. After complaining twice about the wet floor at reception I went out for the evening. On coming back to my room the en-suite floor was dried and one of the towels that were for me, the guest, was put behind the loo to mop up the water. So not only did I have a leaky en-suite I was down a towel. Totally unacceptable not even an apology or explanation from the same receptionist who was on duty the following morning. The receptionist needs training on how to deal with the public. I was in room 16, the floor boards outside the room need to be screwed down as each time someone walked past the floor made a loud squeaky noise. This was a busy and noisy corridor from 5.30am so no sleep after that time. This room was supposed to be in a “quiet area”. This room should not be rented out until it is renovated and the floor boards outside the room are screwed down. Photos show old wall paper lifting, guest towel being used to mop up water from leaky pipes and room door that is not pleasant to look at.

Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of choice, well cooked and presented. From arriving at hotel through to departure, all staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed linen and towels were clean. Room had good lighting. Very hot water always available. Good wardrobe and drawer space. Hotel not having air conditioning, a fan was provided.

Bathroom very dated and didn't like the bath panel or shower door. Would prefer walk in shower. Would like additional plugs.

I wish I’d known the target audience before I’d left. Bookings.com didn’t make it clear at all.

The location was perfect. The staff tried—but I was very unrepresentative of the rest of their clients.

This was a hotel for elderly people on coach trips and planned holidays. It’s owned by a company that runs those types of holidays all over the UK. Bookings.com didn’t make that clear at all—it just looked like a simple and serviceable, well located, well priced seafront hotel. The decor was Fawlty Towers-esque. I was travelling for work and the stay was characterised by my first night when they didn’t have an iron or ironing board I could use. I had to beg the hotel down the road to use theirs for my work shirts. Breakfast was only 8am - 9am whereas I needed to be leaving at 8am for work each morning. I’ve never seen such a tight window.

Lovely sea view room, though the fan in the bathroom was very noisy, specially if you had to use it during the night! Location excellent. Receptionist was excellent, very friendly and helpful

Breakfast arrangements. Very busy because of the coach trips. Took orders, but 25 mins before coffee arrived, another 10 for food. They need more staff. But nice breakfast 😀 Decor a little worn in places.

Our stay was very good in general and we enjoyed Exmouth as a seaside resort.

Breakfast was very good. The hotel in general is looking a little tied and needed some decoration work doing. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The staff were very good.

The bath room left a little to be desired as you couldn't get to the taps because a glass panel was fix in position.

The Hotel generally is in need of an update decoration wise. It looked and felt very dated. The Hotel was very busy so breakfast felt a little rushed.

This hotel was perfect for my needs for a one night stay.

The location is superb - right on the front. Parking right on the spot - but maybe not enough in high summer if most guests have come by car. During my stay most guests were on coach tours. It had an 'olde worlde' human atmosphere. Breakfast main was freshly cooked and good.

I prefer a more buffet style breakfast. Except for cereals and canned fruit it was waiter service (including the porridge). There was a long wait to be served with tea or coffee and porridge and toast - which was the only bread - and the cooked breakfast. This may well have been a good way of reducing waste but was frustrating. I chose not to have dinner in the hotel. You had to book a place in the morning at a specific time. The menu choice looked very adquate but not exciting. I cannot comment on the quality but I would guess that it was good.

plenty of food available for breakfast, located right across the road from the beach, and only a 6-7 minute walk into centre of town, 10mins walk to the train station. Friendly staff; has a bar at the front of the building

The walls were poppadom thin so ear plugs essential to block out snoring and TVs from other rooms. The shower had all the ferocity of a runny nose. There's wifi in communal areas only - not in bedrooms.
