Lovely and well taken care of stay

Really nice and calm accommodation. Very spacious rooms, or dare i say studios. The garden is really nicely maintained and the staff + owners are very friendly and in tune with their guests. Breakfast is lovely. Good facilities too for a small and private owned establishment. (pool, gym, sauna).

I do think the rooms could use a bit of a decoration update, some furniture is due to replacement (broken veneer etc), the rooms are very comfy, but you can see its like a decade old and in need of a fresh look.

Peaceful haven in Constantia

Lovely peaceful place in a quiet and leafy neighbourhood not far from wine farms and restaurants, and about a 25 min drive from the city bowl. Spacious and comfortable room. Lots of facilities including a beautiful pool area and gym. Delicious daily breakfast. A safe in the room for storing valuables.

Tranquil stay in Constantia

Exceptional hosts, couldn’t do enough for us. We had an early check in and a late checkout and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and allow us use of the communal facilities.

An oasis of calm and relaxation

Adult only, good quality choice at breakfast especially oats and good coffee. Small but useful gym onsite. Jo made us feel very welcome from the outset. Fabian was very visible and made a point each morning to talk to his guests offering recommendations.

We loved the atmosphere and hospitality. Got an upgrade to a suite and of course much appreciated. Spacious and luxurious and well maintained. Shower , bed all very good. Breakfast top notch and lots of choices. And a perk to have breakfast in the very well kept garden and with an ongoing service till you are satisfied. And what about the staff … 100% dedicated and hats off to Fabian and his team. Good training and good employment ship paus off. Would definitely stay here again when in CT

I wish there was complimentary water bottle in the room - because there are at the gym so why wouldn't you just offer it to the guests at their room?

Villa Coloniale is a beautiful, luxuriously decorated property, the perfect home base in Cape Town

Both Jo and Fabian were very welcoming and attended to our requests promptly. The breakfast is excellent, offering plenty of fresh choices. The pool is also the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon. The description does say the room is small but the patio attached to the room makes up for it (though visible to passing staff and guests so not really private).

The only down side is that bathroom is very small and it is difficult for two people to get ready. So a mirror next to a plug point in the bedroom would be great.

A welcome retreat in heavenly surroundings!

The breakfast at Villa Coloniale is exceptionally good. Lovely, fresh fruit, yoghurts, bread and croissants and generous helpings of cold meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, fresh fruit juices, teas and coffee. In addition you can order a hot breakfast including delicious eggs benedict and scrambled eggs. The location is heavenly - peaceful and lush, beautiful gardens with amazing trees and lots of chirping birds. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! My room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated with great attention to detail - I loved the pretty flowers in the bathroom. The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make my stay a pleasurable one. Thank you to everyone at the Villa Coloniale for an unforgettable and very welcome retreat.

The property is superbly decorated. I like the fact it’s got a small number of rooms which makes it quite intimate with a real attention to details from the staff. I’ve stayed twice already and this is now my preferred accommodation when I visit Cape Town. I can’t wait to be back!

A stolen piece from heaven

I had a truly wonderful stay at Villa Coloniale Schumacher Luxury Retreat. The property is a hidden gem — elegant, peaceful, and immaculately maintained. One of the highlights of my stay was the lush gardens and beautifully landscaped green areas that surround the villa. Walking through the grounds felt like stepping into a private botanical haven. The trees, flowers, and serene seating areas create a calming atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing with a book, enjoying a morning coffee, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature. What made the experience even more special was the incredible hospitality of Joan. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. From the moment I arrived, Joan made sure every detail was taken care of, offering local insights, thoughtful touches, and always greeting me with a kind smile. Her presence added a personal and heartfelt touch that I’ll never forget. A big thank you to the entire team — and especially to Joan — for creating such a memorable and rejuvenating experience. YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS!

When arriving at the Guest House, I realised that I was a beneficiary of big luck! I booked the Guest House on a whim (the morning of my trip) not really focusing on the amenities, I only focused on the location because I needed to be close to site. The Guest House is BEAUTIFUL! I always say that if a place is not better than my own home that there is no reason to leave my house, this is definitely worth leaving home for. This is by far the best Guest House room I have ever stayed in, my room was perfect it was more like a Suite than a room. The staff treated me like family! Stella and Jo are fully invested in offering the best hospitality and service. The breakfast room looks like an art museum. You have to go there! It is fabulous! It was raining and I didn't get out much but the rain was delightful because I was in the most beautiful setting!

The neighbour is building and the builders were working on a Sunday, the noise made me a little uncomfortable but did not hinder my stay!

Great location in a safe and secure suburb. Pool and gardens were a joy as were the healthy, freshly-prepared breakfasts. Special shout-out for Jo who proved to be a delightful and friendly hostess who really understands the meaning of professional hospitality.

Other than breakfast, no dining facilities on site but this is really not a big issue as there are plenty of great dining options in the area.
