This is not a 5* boutique hotel and should not be sold as one. It is no more than a 3*.

Good location. Quiet, comfortable beds and quality bed linen. Comfortable padded sunbeds. The hotel manager was very good.

Breakfast - overdone eggs, frankfurter style pork sausages. You are given a small fruit plate rather than choose your own, also fruit on second morning was not fresh, poor buffet selection, no crossiant or pastries on second morning. No staff around in the day by the pool - would be good to have a fridge with water/soft drinks in the undercover area there. Decor - very old fashioned

A little gem in Constantia!

Glen Avon is situated in a quiet part of Constantia but, with easy driving distance of shops and restaurants. The room was spotless and the grounds were manicured and pretty. We ate dinner in the restaurant the first night of our stay, which was wonderful. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the old school boutique hotel charm and gracious staff.

We enjoyed the breakfast and also had a fine dinner on one of the evenings. Our room was a garden suite with a mini-kitchen which was both spacious and comfortable. Staff were great - friendly and attentive and well-trained to make one feel at home.

The best breakfast ever. The staff were very attentive to all our needs at all times. Very friendly staff and loved being greeted by Pasha daily. Rooms are so comfy and cosy. Felt very homely.

Great location, nice touches like turndown services & toiletries. The staff were friendly and rooms were clean.

The room we booked was not what we were given. This was changed thankfully and the new room was much better. Hotel generally dated and we based our booking on prior reviews but feel these did not live up to our experience. Did not feel the hotel was 5 stars.

Beautiful location, wonderful flower gardens and pool area. A very quaint hotel. Service is really excellent - kind, friendly and helpful. we loved the breakfast each morning and also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one evening, which was great.

Hotel is conveniently located to many areas of interest. Very comfortable furnishings/accommodation. Although food menu was limited, the quality was excellent. Staff were brilliant, would definitely stay here again.

breakfast was excellent, and it was lovely to be able to have breakfast on the patio in the morning sun; the staff - and especially Beauty who served breakfast every morning - were considerate and helpful; the rooms were spacious, we had rooms with a verandah and garden view; the beds were large and comfortable; the location is peaceful and quiet, although especially during rush hours traffic noise was heard; easy access to points/places of interest in the Capetown area

The room was large and spacious - it even had a lounge area. Beautifully decorated, good beds with high quality sheets. Space on the balcony both to sit at a table, or to relax on the lounger with a lovely view. Beautiful garden. Excellent breakfast. So accessible to the freeway to get around.

There is only one option for dinner, and if that doesn't suit you, you need to go our somewhere else.

The perfect place to stay and not burden our relations who we were visiting.

Every breakfast was great, particularly when, after chatting to the groundsman about their mulberry tree, the next morning there were mulberries on our fruit plate!
