Riversong Guest House, a jewel in Newlands’ Crown

It’s cleanliness, it’s relaxed atmosphere, the lovely room, the gorgeous breakfasts, the good quality bed linen on the extra large bed, the towels and toiletries and, above all, the absolutely wonderful staff who’s just could not do enough to make our stay superb. Great value for money, a bit tired but super located guesthouse with top staff

The location for those who love to be in green and quite residential area is great, the supermarkets and restaurants are around the corner though. Very good!

The building is somewhere from 90s not really renovated, clean but somewhat tired. We love high ceilings and views, the terrace for breakfast. The pool did not look clean enough to swim, there was a small problem with the pump. The house is nicely decorated but need a refresh. No proper aircon, hot in the room in summer (overnight). Still good quality for Africa and the price is very adequate (good value for money). Great staff! Really helpful and sweet. Great breakfast (5 Stars!). Great hottub on the roof (included). Highly recommended overall.

Excellent guest house

We had fantastic customer service from the team even before we arrived. While we were staying at Riversong, we were given so much helpful and kind advice....where to go, how to organise our visit..... how to manage daily life in the city,..... our first stay in Cape Town was hugely enhanced by the personal touch we encountered at this guest house. Very clean, fantastic breakfast, super comfortable beds, incredibly friendly, kind staff. The location was great for a first stay for our family... not in the centre of the city, close to all useful amenities and restaurants, easy routes to all the activities and outings we planned.

It is hard to think of anything at all we did not like.

We were very happy with our stay. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Well done.

The breakfasts were amazing. Aaron's omelette was very nice, and Roy's Eggs Benedict were absolutely fantastic and was sampled numerous times. Charles and Gift were very helpful during entire stay, and our room was well stocked and maintained. The entire residence was very safe and the view of the mountain from the lounge and jacuzzi deck was great.

The shower temperature controller setting was difficult to keep the water at the preferred temp and the bath exit should have some anti-slip on the top step. There are hand rails which were an excellent help though.

Disappointing for price in comparison to others we have stayed at in the area

Location was good for the event we were attending

The room (double garden room) was advertised as recently refurbished which was not the reality. The room was equipped with noisy standalone fans and air conditioners making sleeping with them on impossible. The bed was hard as a rock and the mattress was very stained. The main curtains didn’t even fit the window when they were closed. Overall the room was very tired and silly things made the experience frustrating as a room for 2 had one robe, one flannel and a bottle of water by each side of the bed (nice touch) but only a glass on one side. Also the room description did not match the reality of the facilities in the room. We were looking forward to using the pool but it was very murky and did not look at all clean.

Had a fantastic stay at the guest house, location was perfect, the rooms were big and extremely comfortable, breakfast was amazing and the staff were friendly and eager to help. I will definitely be staying there again!

Wonderful place to stay

The staff were absolutely wonderful, helpful and friendly. The locations is great. Rooms spacious and everything you need in the room. Breakfast so good and well done to the staff Fresh fruit and full English breakfast. Muffins were absolutely delicious and good coffee - worth a visit.

The garage set up could be improved by removing the shelving at back so that big cars would not have to have special spots. We came back one day and another person was occupying our bay and we spent 20 minutes getting a key for one that was not occupied - this was very annoying

The location was perfect. Lovely area. The house is beautiful. The staff very welcoming and efficient. Breakfast was promptly served and very nice. We requested a room with a separate room for our teenage son which was accommodated. Walking distance from bars and restaurants and a short drive to lots of places worth visiting. The owner, Inri, was very friendly, very informative and we enjoyed our chats with her. Netflix in the bedroom. Parking was provided. The upstairs lounge was gorgeous and a real pleasure in which to relax.

Not much. The room wasn't as nicely finished as the other rooms but as it was the only one that came with two rooms we were OK with that. Garage was a little tight for an SUV. Really though these did not affect the pleasure of our stay whatsoever.

A peaceful place where you can relax but at the same time very close to everything you need to get to.

A serene guest house, 15 minutes from the city centre. 10 minutes walk from the upmarket, Cavendish Square shopping mall. An amazing breakfast each day with a choice of hot options . A large room with a powerful large shower.Very friendly and helpful staff.

A beautiful and family friendly Lodge

It was our first stay to this beautiful Lodge and already planned our next stay with Inri the Owner. Inri definitely has amazing interior decorating skills and it is evident in every room you enter. The whole Lodge is beautifully decorated and ultra comfortable but besides this the staff were amazing and friendly and we're so helpful, warm and kind so much so that they have become our friends now. The breakfasts were very tasty and very filling and were impressed that they supply a water fountain and bottles to take to your rooms so never need to bring in your own water in. The rooms were so clean on entering it felt like no-one stayed there before us!

Hand on heart there was nothing we did not like about this Lodge perhaps the only thing we all didn't like was leaving it.

I enjoyed my stay a lot. The staff has been extremely friendly and helpful whenever I had any questions or needed assistance. My room was clean, well equipped and comfortable to stay in. The area, Newlands, is a beautiful and safe neighborhood and it's just a short drive downtown. Would stay there again.

A Quality Hotel with the best Full English breakfasts

We loved EVERYTHING about our stay here Inri, Aaron, Charmaine couldn't do enough for us and with the other guests. Our rooms were incredibly spacious and everything worked in our rooms which is a first!! A stunning location and we walked to the shops and restaurants. We are booked in again middle March and it's the ONKY place we would stay when we visit Cape Town.

I‘ve been here just for one night, but the room was nice quite and clean and very big with a separate living room and acces to a terrace. I had a very good breakfast as well. They offer a water dispenser, this is nice. The wifi works fine in the groundfloor while the loadshedding. Definitely a super nice place to stay again. The neighborhood around offers some nice restaurants.
