Possibly past its best

Great location by the coast, building v pretty, not too expensive. It is a 5 min walk to the Tesco express and the major bus terminus point is 2 mins from the front door. No issues with maintenance etc

It's old like dated, everything felt at least 25 years old. But not in a particularly timeless way. Almighty din from the band playing downstairs and they carried on so late! You have to leave keys with reception or they have no idea if you are in the building or not. No way to deadbolt the room door???? Room was oddly shaped/arranged and I had a view of all the extractor fans out the window

Having a single room, i ended up atv the back of the hotel and there were a lot of stairs. The room was between floors.

Living in a cardboard box.

The location was top notch. breakfast was fine top up with pleasantries. Facilities although it was basic everything was there.

Like the song living in a cardboard box. Radiators off yet it was really hot with window open. I'm not overly large but I had to walk sideways to get in and out of the bathroom door. Not very much light building structure cut a medium size widow in half. The room is not big enough for the furniture that got in the way.

Hotel was in an excellent location across the road from the beach & close to the harbour & pavillion. We felt most welcome from all the staff, everything was spotlessly clean & an excellent breakfast was served.

Location is very good. For the money I paid I thought the place was beyond expectations. Good breakfast. All the staff I interacted with with were excellent.

The bed was not to my liking. I prefer a firmer mattress.

Location and friendliness of staff

The single room that I had for 1 night, the bathroom was dated and the soap rack was rusted and needed replacing. The sealing tape around the bath had mould and also needed replacing.

Lovely hotel, great location

Lovely hotel right on the seafront. We booked a suite for 2 nights, the room was very nice and large, very clean, lovely to be able to open the double doors onto the balcony. Great breakfast, friendly staff.

All the staff were excellent and very helpful. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Great to see fish on the menu.

Nothing that I didn’t like but a couple of suggestions. Perhaps redecorate the dining room at some point as it was a bit dull but very functional. Change the tea bags in the rooms, they kept breaking before use and were not very strong. Threw quite a few away.

Cheap enough to justify the price

Decent location for the front and town, serves the purpose of a place to rest your head. Friendly staff.

Walls are very thin and can hear everything neighbouring guests are doing, quite dated, never had to hand my key back in every time I exit the building before.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views and helpful staff.

Our balcony room was lovely with a fantastic view. The location is amazing a short walk to the town and harbour. The staff were super helpful and best of all the parking permit enabled us to park free of charge for the duration of our stay. We will be back.

Enjoy a stay in a fine historic property from the times of George lll

A really well run, well looked after hotel. They have assessed the needs of their guests, met the needs of their guests, kept their rooms and the building in good order and have remained staunchly old fashioned in the concept of caring for their guests. Refreshing.

The shower was more of a mist than anything else. It was a trickle ( I was up on the top floor, third I believe) so I adjusted the shower head and got a mist...well give it time and all the soap does wash off. Plenty of hot water though and a nice little bathroom with a bath tub. Great view from the room. I'm sure if something could have been done about water pressure in this fabulous historic building, it would have bee

Great proper hotel, no gimmicks! Fabulous beach front location, great staff.

The staff were fabulous, welcoming, knowledgable and clearly very dedicated to their job. Shout out to Brian, who worked in the bar and helped to serve breakfast, great guy who was very clearly happy in his job. Also, Lisa, the manager, who was also friendly and very dedicated to her job. Breakfast was fabulous and well worth the money.

Ideal break.

Room was really nice, very clean and comfortable, with sea view. Really slept well in spacious double bed. Breakfast was superb and Brian the waiter looking after us couldn’t have been more helpful ! Have stayed in Weymouth many times but this was the first time at the Rex, it won’t be the last 😊😊😊
