Like the room, didn't like the service

Misrepresented & Dissatisfied

Location is great.

This is NOT a hotel, you are simply renting a room. NO hotel facilities. NO additional pillows or covers for the sofa bed (luckily I had a blanket in my car). So my 2 kids and partner had to share the double bed. NO on site parking (£40 euros for 24h Street parking). Extremely run down, when we arrived it actually looked closed down. Ramdom door in our apartment but we didn't have a key for, didn't feel very safe especially with 2 young kids. Massively misrepresented by the owner or booking.com (I'm not sure which) I would have asked for my money back or discount but the host seemed quite aggressive. The host had an argument with 2 German ladies while he was showing us to our room, and simply said "if you don't like it, go an find somewhere else" and told us that " I hate it when people disrespect me". One of the reasons we didn't rock the boat and left asap in the morning! PLUS the mentions of shotguns and rifles!!!

Location was nice, parking in front of the place is easy and cheap

The place was dirty, at least the floor was. Sofa bed was dirty, walls were dirty as well. Sofa bed was not prepared while we have requested it when booked the room. We were on the ground floor, we haven’t seen anything nice (not a hall, not the garden). Was difficult to communicate with the owner. Bed was not comfortable

No show, no stay. We went elsewhere.

Nothing. Nobody was at the hotel at the appointed time, and after repeated efforts to make contact, over a period of an hour, we were obliged to find accommodation elsewhere. A card had been left at the point where communication should be made, which simply said “Absent”, adding a telephone number which was not available when we tried it. We are not people who complain, but this was simply unacceptable.

It was impossible to make communication with anyone. Nobody responded on the intercom, nobody replied to phone messages, and we wasted almost an hour trying to find the host, to include vainly seeking an alternative entrance. Ultimately, we were highly fortunate to find superb accommodation elsewhere. We speak as we find, but we couldn’t even find the host for this accommodation, and are hugely disappointed by this negative experience.

Total disappointment due to a drunk and rogue host

location

Host - he was real trump. He met us drunk, didn’t speak any English and most importantly, lied that he had not received the payment from booking.com, so he requested a cash payment at the spot. He didn’t give us any receipt and when I claimed the money back lied agin that we asked for an “extra room” for which he charged us. It’s a shame and I would take it out from booking.com to avoid bad reputation an eroding booking.com image because of an ethical host.

Very good

Lovely old house with a very warm welcome. Our host was so helpful when we were seriously late arriving due to a much-delayed channel crossing from the UK. Wonderful old house and garden (with wisteria, trees, rabbits, and a cat!). Inside, a winding staircase took us to our huge room, lovely bed and furniture, with a large en suite bathroom. Good French breakfast. Great views from the house across the Normandy countryside. Easily walkable to Honfleur town centre, cafes, restaurants, shops, art galleries, parks and harbour. Parking close-by means paying. Free of cheap parking less than 10 minutes (walk) away. Easy access to main roads and along the coast to nearby towns. Happy to recommend Autour de la Rose for a restful, interesting and convenient stay

Feel like a princess for one night!

We had an amazing room- huge and very nicely decorated with ancient furniture, accessories and orchids. The bathroom was equally big and pleasantly furnished. The building is an old peaceful family house, charming and with a big garden. Lovely view on the port and the bridge, only a 10' walk away from the crowded center. Breakfast in the room was huge! The owner was kind and really easy going. It was a short but pleasant stay in Honfleur

Schedule is a bit tight with check in after 6pm and breakfast starting from 8.45am- it might not accomodate all the travelers' needs. Other than this, nothing to add

breakfast was not good. we had to call the owner to find the entrance which is a little side gate. there is no on site parking as specified in 'Bookings', you will be very lucky to find a parking space on the same street. no other bedding on the bed apart from a bottom sheet.

Honfleur würden wir sehr empfehlen aber nicht die Unterkunf.

Gute Lage und Zimmer mit Küche.

Wenn ich für 4 Personen ein Zimmer buche, in dem 2 Personen auf der Schlafcouch schlafen, erwarte ich für einen Preis von 156€ / Nacht, dass die Schlafcouch fertig gemacht wird und ich das nicht selber beziehen muss. Vor Ort wirkt alles deutlich einfacher und nicht so, wie es online gezeigt wird. Zudem ist der Preis von 156 € für eine Nacht völlig überzogen, insbesondere da der Check-in erst ab 18 Uhr möglich ist. Insgesamt stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis überhaupt nicht. Frühstück würde uns auch nicht angeboten. Und wlan hat auch nicht funktioniert.

Charmant und gemütlich 😇

Die Unterkunft hatte sehr viel Charme. Eine kleine Villa mit sehr gemütlich ausgestatteten Zimmer, einem großen Garten, zwei kleinen Hühnern, einen charmanten und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber. Ein tolle Erfahrung!!

Demeure stylée et calme

Excentrée mais par conséquent au calme. Charmante demeure avec du style. Le propriétaire est au petit soin et de bons conseils. Nous y avons passé une nuit très agréable et reposante. La chambre et la salle de bain étaient bien plus grandes que je ne pensais.

Abbiamo soggiorno nel monolocale fronte strada, la camera da letto senza finestra, la casa fredda riscaldata con stufette eletteiche. Parcheggio in strada a pagamento dalle 8 alle 20. La struttura non soddisfava le foto postate. Porta d'ingresso poco sicura.

Siamo arrivati in leggero anticipo (alle 5.15 pm, il check in è dalle 6pm) sperando di poter fare il check-in un po’ prima. Purtroppo, non è stato possibile: abbiamo chiamato e ci è stato risposto in modo secco che dovevamo tornare alle 6pm. Non c’è possibilità di entrare prima. Il proprietario parla solo francese. Nessuno apre, nessuno accoglie: si resta fuori ad aspettare. Un vero peccato, perché il palazzo è davvero stupendo, antico e ricco di fascino. Ma purtroppo è anche fatiscente, con chiari segni di trascuratezza. Avrebbe bisogno di essere restaurato e curato meglio, perché così com’è dà un senso di occasione persa. Con un po’ più di attenzione all’ospite e alla struttura, l’esperienza potrebbe essere completamente diversa.

inoubliable ! Avec la vue magnifique sur la jetée et sur le pont de Normandie ! 22 sur 20 !!!

L'accueil et les échanges avec notre hôte de marque ! Le cadre, l'habitation, les espaces verts , la vue , tout quoi ! La chambre grandiose, une chambre de roi ! Rien à redire ! a comparer avec le dernier hôtel à Honfleur pour le même prix il n'y a pas photo !

Rien ! Absolument rien ! Certaines personnes vont dire que le papier peint est vieillot § Pour nous il va très bien avec la bâtisse de caractère !!! Charmante avec sa vigne vierge et sa glycine magnifique !!!
