Cosy, friendly & very comfortable. Lovely breakfast.

Parking - only 2hrs Mon-Sat between 8am-6pm. Difficult if you have heavy luggage or need to make 2 or 3 journeys. There were no spaces available right outside the property the majority of the time.

Quirky, unpretentious, obviously loved by the owners.

Noisy road, but wasn’t really a problem.

The tiny ensuite. When I leaned forward to brush my teeth in the basin,my back touched the radiator on the wall behind me. There wasn't enough room outside shower to dry myself after showering. I had to come back into the bedroom to do that.S

The central location in town was very good and serves as our base for stay in the area. Our hosts Katherine and James were very friendly and helpful. They offer a well run, pleasant and efficient stay, happily facilitating our late night arrivals and occasional early morning departures, providing an excellent breakfast in the mornings in the charming front room, whenever we could take advantage of it, catering caringly for my lactose intolerance. Our room was provided with filtered drinking water and various teas, and a fan which was ample for cooling off at night. The local parking regulations were made simple by Katherine who kindly offered the Lodge´s single parking spot to park in overnight although this was not needed. An excellent experience, thank you both!

Nothing really, except having a bigger room to move about in. However, we know that this is an impossible ask given the historical and characterful building.
