Lovely hotel, amazing staff, fabulous breakfast and great communication.

The stairs to the top room were quite steep and narrow and the lock was a bit fiddly.

Charming period house

Narrow steep stairs to top of house which mightn’t suit older people but they’d said they don’t put older people in those rooms . Typical of those top floor of style of houses .

Fantastic gem of a hotel in Chard

This place is a n absolute gem of a privately run hotel, the place is spotless, a great mix of modern and traditional features create a stylish interior, Jamie is so attentive and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for her. Breakfast choices were amazing, which you order through a qr code, we went traditional full English and it was all great quality ingredients cooked to perfextion/ there is also a lovely lighter breakfast offering such as fresh yoghurt, fruits and cereals. Would not hesitate in booking this lovely hotel again.

Without a doubt, one of the best bed and breakfasts we have stayed in!

Our whole experience was fabulous! Our room was spotless with lovely decor, very comfortable bed and great shower with decent toiletries and towels. The breakfast was delicious and presented beautifully. The owners were very welcoming and helpful . Would definitely stay here again.

Great hosts and location, but top floor room was a struggle

Jamie and Gary were great hosts. The room was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We’re were there on a hot day but the supplied fan kept the room nicely cold. The view was tremendous.

We were on the second floor which was only accessible via very steep stairs. We had a lot of kit with us, so getting everything to and from the room was a struggle. The ceiling height in the room was low at one side. Fortunately, my wife is petite and managed round that side of the bed okay. I would have struggled.

Good if slightly overpriced stopover

Spacious suite (upgraded!) with all new furnishings. Onsite parking. Hassle-free. Lots of breakfast choice. Nice staff and friendly atmosphere.

Digital key system - personal preference but just seems a bit OTT and door closing is noisy. Breakfast coffee should be freshly made to order at this price point, I feel.

The attic room ceiling was a potential head hazard for getting around one side of the bed, but difficult to see how to arrange differently. Steep stairs ok for us but prior warning would be good just in case.

Extremely clean. Good location & parking facilities. Rooms were spacious for the combination that we booked for our party. Prebookable breakfast was a bonus, especially when we had an early start on the Sunday morning. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Would highly recommend if you want a good nights rest and a comfortable base for the surrounding area.

Great Guesthouse

Upon arrival the owner warmly welcomed me there in the lounge area. Room had been pre-inspected before my check-in as the side lights in the room were already on. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, room was clean and well equipped as there was even a Nespresso coffee machine in my room! Surrounding area to my room was quite and heard no other guests. Plenty of free parking on site. The owners clearly make an effort in there hospitable approach to their guests.

NOT the guest house issue but the area as my mobile when visiting Somerset has problems with internet connection generally, so the guest house system of scanning a QR code to pre-book breakfast had its issues.

This is an excellent small hotel. The breakfast was very good, and the staff attentive and efficient. My single room was the last one available. It was very clean but rather on the small side. I understand all the other rooms are much bigger.

The welcome from the host was perfect a great way to start the visit. They continued to do everything asked and more throughout my stay. The room was comfortable and the whole hotel very clean and tidy.

Great place to stay,very clean, great food and really nice owners

Really well presented , the new owners Jamie and Gary have made some very nice upgrades and make your stay extremely enjoyable, the rooms are clean and have everything you need, the breakfast menu is very good as well.

Friendly welcome. Clean. Comfortable room and bed. Good heating particularly as it was cold weather. All facilities worked well. Gary and Jamie our hosts, provided their dinning room facilities, including fruit juice, for our takeaway Indian meal. We could not ask for more.
