Tangerine was incredible and the kindest, most helpful person I've ever met. Absolute gem of a human. So lovely to chat to and gave us so much information and help, even when we didn't know what we needed!
Yukimurasaki Ryokan is gorgeous, the 6 options of hot pools we had (2 in our room, 4 on the roof) were heavenly. The keiseki meal was fascinating, a complete art form and had some incredible flavours. The Hida beef was exceptional.
They customised the menu perfectly for my partner and myself. The location is stunning too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

The front desk staff was amazing and gave us detailed instructions on etiquette as well as tips for our hiking trip to Kamikochi the next day. The private onsens (2 in your room and 2 on the roof you can book) were the highlight of our stay. I am a mom traveling with my adult son, and they were fine with us wearing bathing suits so we could go in the rooftop onsen together. The food was very good but I wouldn’t rate it quite as highly as the two other ryokans where we stayed.
Not the hotel’s fault, but unfortunately we were there on a Tuesday and it turns out much of the restaurants and shops in the small towns in the area are closed Monday-Tuesday. We finally found something but it was a bit of an adventure.

The location near main street.The place could benefite from some renovation.The place doesn’t look like a proper onsen ryokan but more as a regular hotel.
