A traditional Ryokan experience in a beautiful location, it was very peaceful. Excellent food (both breakfast and dinner provided) and lovely private onsen to use. Lovely helpful staff. The room itself had excellent aircon and facilities including a fridge, kettle.
The bathroom in the room was a little dated.

We are usually not fussy, but would probably not stay here again. Location is beautiful, staff is kind and helpful. Onsen was nice. Food was good but expensive compared to options in Takayama
The place is truly worn down, holes in the sheets etc. The bugs were really an issue, we collected 5-10 per room per day. 1 of 3 rooms had a SEVERE smell that the staff could not get rid of
