Perfect hotel for our stopover to southern France

This is our ‘go to’ stopover hotel on our travels to southern France with easy access off the A10 or the non toll roads via Rouen, Dreux and Chartres. Lots of parking and it also has a restaurant but also surrounded by plenty of eateries (Buffalo Grill our fav). Breakfast is good but also just over the road there is a Boulangerie where we usually stock up on something for lunch on our forward travels. You know what you are getting with a Campanile - good standard of accommodation that is clean and great value. Perfect for our stopover.

The receptionist Benedict was very welcoming and hospitable. Very helpful. The lady at breakfast made sure that we were suitably nourished and it was very nice.

A good overnight stay

Perfect for an overnight stay on a long journey. The bed was very comfortable, it was quiet despite being close to the motorway so a good night’s sleep was guaranteed. Excellent shower, clean - what more could we want? An added bonus was the Leon fish brasserie a stone’s throw away with good food and service, and it was next to a Buffalo Grill, so all tastes are catered for.

Okay for stopover

The hotel was okay as a stopover for one night. The breakfast was really good! Friendly staff.

Rooms were a bit smelly because of humidity I think. Garden furniture was falling apart at the bar. After breakfast the cleaning staff said that we couldn't use our bathroom in the room anymore because the room was already cleaned although it was still before the check-out time.

Disappointing

Convenient for stop over night.

Not stayed in a Campanile for some time. Always been happy with the standard of the rooms but this stay was disappointing.The handbasin was blocked. The door to the shower room made a dreadful creaking noise. The pillows were lumpy. Two sachets of coffee two teas but no milk. The resturant is closed but you can get 10% discount eating at the Leon du Bruxelles opposite. The room was in need of an upgrade.

Room was rather grubby. The window lock was broken and therefore insecure.

Clean, friendly and good value for money

Staff were really friendly. We had been given an interconnecting room for our daughter which was great and all rooms were next to each other (we booked three in total). The rooms were very clean and although basic, had everything you needed. Breakfast was great with lots of choice available even towards the end of the breakfast period.

The bar could have been open a little later - it was shut at 10.30pm. Other than that, everything was great.

The room was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities. The location is next to an excellent restaurant giving 10% discount to guests. There was a good variety of items available for breakfast even though we arrived on the deadline.

The exterior looks ready for decorating as the woodwork has peeling paint. The room is basic with only one towel per guest.

Recommended. Better than hotel rooms in a hotel.

The location, the parking, the proximity to so many restaurants, it has a bar, most of all - the rooms are independent chalet style and that is so much better than a motel or hotel. Come and go as you like and it is very laid back and not stuffy rooms. Excellent place and excellent value for money. Air conditioning was also good.

I overslept because it was so peaceful and nice.
