Very cosy, had a Venetian feel to it which we loved. Staff were very helpful and welcoming
Nothing to do with the hotel itself but our taxi transfer was late so we had to take an Uber from the airport. Not a big deal and this was the only problem we had.

Location was absolutely great. We’d stayed closer to San Marco earlier in the week and it was so loud at night but the Excess was lovely and quiet. Was only a short walk into the hustle and bustle.
The gardens are absolutely beautiful, a lovely place to have your breakfast and morning coffee.
Facilities in the room were great.
The gentleman that checked us out was so cheery and helpful, even at 6 o’clock in the morning.

The garden is beautiful, the location being just out of the hustle and bustle is perfect. Staff were very helpful.
The “free” boat tour offered to Murano island was a waste of time and regret of the trip. It was nothing more than a trip straight into the Venier factory to be shown a brief demo of glass blowing then we were followed around the glass shop by the “guide” asking whether we’d like to buy anything. Once it was clear we weren’t buying anything we were shoved out the side door and put back on a boat back to Venice. I would have rather done a day trip on a taxi or ferry by ourselves so we could explore the island than being offered this free trip by the hotel. Don’t take this trip!

Breakfast was priced too high at 35 euros. If it was a bit cheaper I think more people would take it giving a better atmosphere to the place
One member of staff was particularly irksome . She insisted the steamer was working when it was not. I had to really insist and demonstrate that it was not and eventually it came back sorted .
The other time she insisted she had turned off the air conditioning in my room when she had not . Eventually she conceded she had made a mistake. This is the sort of thing you can do without on holiday
