Small room, huge breakfast buffet

We felt very welcome at this hotel. It was located close to the railway station and a short walk from the old town. It was in a nice part of Metz. The breakfast buffet was super delicious. Fantastic!

The room itself and especially the bathroom were very small. Not a lot of space to put your backpacks, clothes, coats, towels.

Old rooms. Would'nt stay here again

The staff was friendly, however, I would not to stay here again. There are better hotels available at a similiar price.

The place is old. We booked the comfort room, but it wasn't what we thought it'd be. The pictures made it look bigger and way more modern than it actually is. No AC. The TV is a tiny, old thing. The bathroom only has a bathtub. For us, the hot water pressure was so low we had to shower with cold water.

Nice location with good value

The facilities are a bit old, but the location was good. The hotel staff were friendly. The room had a small balcony, and the view from it was nice. It was within walking distance of the station and the city center, making it convenient for sightseeing.

There were no amenities such as shampoo or soap.

Great location, easy check-in and helpful staff. Breakfast was nice, fresh and with a good selection in a nice room with balconies.

Rooms were very small, the bathroom and toilet are in need of renovation, they worked and the shower was good but just shabby and dated. The beds were very low, a little like a futon style bed, but comfortable.

Good value hotel close to centre of Metz.

Great hotel and wonderful breakfast for the price. Staff very helpful. When there was a problem with our room it was immediately rectified and an upgrade provided.

I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

I stayed for one night from April 13 to 14. The room was clean and had everything needed for a short stay. However, it seems best suited for a single person under 1.9 meters tall—taller guests may find their feet touching the balcony door while lying in bed. Tip for future guests: If you're tall, consider checking the bed length with the hotel in advance to ensure a more comfortable sleep. The balcony was spacious, and the bathroom was comfortable with all necessary amenities. The hotel’s location is convenient—just a 10-minute walk to the city center. Breakfast was simple but tasty, including a small selection of sausages, omelette, and a nice variety of pastries and baked goods. It cost €14 and was worth it.

The hotel is called Hôtel Escurial – Centre Gare, which suggests it’s right next to the train station. In reality, it takes about 7–8 minutes to walk there with luggage, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're expecting direct station access.

Barely slept

The staff were lovely!!!

The bed was the most uncomfortable! Very hard mattress and they provided one tiny pillow each that was very poor quality! I barely slept. For comfort the price did not match.

The hotel was very well taken care of - you could tell that the owners take pride in it, added little nice details to the decor. The breakfast was beautifully presented and lavish! The staff excellent: friendly, helpful and very personable. I definitely recommend the hotel and will stay there again.

+ location + wifi + parking easy nearby in the street - free because it was sunday + staff was friendly + baby crib provided

- room was very small for 2 persons with baby and the crib plus a baby stroller made it even more cramped - elevator small was size of stroller so it.could hardly fit a lot we had to go up several times - hotel looks a bit outdated/out of fashion

Nice location near the train station. Overall, clean and fairly well maintained. Nice staff. The room was small, but had a little balcony.

The toilet tank was a bit dysfunctional. Had to lift the lid to get the water going. Also, you have to ring the bell at the front door even during the day. Sometimes it takes the staff a couple of minutes to buzz you in.

Passable for one night on a budget but won't be staying here again

Good value for money, convenient location, helpful staff let us store our bags on the last day (worth noting there is no left luggage facility at Metz-Ville station). Basic but quiet rooms with all the essentials. Should not really complain at this price.

Cramped rooms, very drab and dated interior, long overdue refurbishment, with doors and walls covered in scratches. Rooms did not seem very clean and the hallways were dark. Seemed to be understaffed. Some personnel better trained than others.

Old and not in a good way

The staff was nice and the bed was comfortable. The cleaning staff were happy to give extra towels. They were very sweet. Parking is inexpensive and a reasonable distance away.

Everything is old, and it smells that way. The main entrance is always locked, and sometimes you have to wait for someone to buzz you in who isn't always there. Every time I requested something, the person at the front desk said they would bring it to me but never did. The bathroom is small. Showering means standing completely still. The rooms are poorly ventilated, so everything is humid after you shower. The walls are paper-thin, so you can hear what everyone is doing. The location is good if you want to catch a train, bad if you want to enjoy the nightlife.

It was close to food locations.

We had to park at the train station and walk back to the hotel. It would have been nice if the staff would have explained how to get to the parking garage. Room was extremely small, bathroom door hit the bed when opening it. Room was hot, bed was hard, pillows were flat.

Great location. Lucky room placement on the corner, and a nice view from the balcony. For a one or two night stay, this place is alright.

We thought the breakfast could use some more improvement, but it was decent. I do wish they would modernize the place a bit to avoid us having to leave our key with the front desk every time we left.
