Lovely quiet and peaceful location with a warm welcome.

Good choice of breakfast items but we did not use them as we dont usually eat breakfast. Booked a two night stay as we were going to an event in the area, the location was ideal, quiet and peaceful. Received a warm welcome by the owner Chrissy, even though we were a bit late arriving.

Perfect for a peaceful break away.

What a lovely, peaceful place! A nice, comfortable room in an annex of a beautiful, old farmhouse. A large, private bathroom and a cosy little seating area to have breakfast, with a few treats provided on our arrival and a fridge & toaster to make snacks. We loved sitting out on the front lawn under the beautiful tree in the evening. The owner, Chrissy was so friendly and we would definitely come back here next time we are in the area.

We loved it... but it might not suit everyone if not comfortable with stairs and uneven floors of an older building.

Great countryside location with a lovely host.

We had a lovely stay at the property. It was set in the countryside with close links to local villages and towns. There is plenty to do in the area to suit most interests. Chrissy is a very obliging host and has plenty of knowledge about the area, should you have any questions or queries. , I have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

Lovely place to stay

Lovely farmhouse with lots of character. Chrissy met us at the door with her gorgeous dog and showed us to our room which was lovely, so clean and comfortable. Chrissy had left cereals, bread, crisps , milk, butter and jam for us and on our second day left us 2 delicious cakes. There is a lovely garden area to sit out and it is so peaceful. Chrissy is such a lovely, friendly, helpful lady and I woulld definitely recommend a stay here.

Lovely stop in a comfortable and welcoming farmhouse.

A quaint and historic old farmhouse in quiet countryside. Plenty of parking and very friendly welcome from Chrissy (and her two dogs, who live in a separate part of the building.) Continental-style breakfast goods are in the room along with a fridge, toaster and kettle.

The weather could have been cooler! (but, of course, this is not a criticism of Gilberts End Farm!) It is quite steep staircase up to the bedrooms, but Chrissy was happy to assist with bags.

A relaxing, quiet and history filled base.

The host is superb. She ensures that you are well looked after. Cereals and milk provided, along with bread and butter in the fridge in your room. Fresh fruit also, as well as melon and grapes with yogurt in the fridge. A cooked breakfast is also available for a small charge. The property description is accurate. Its a five hundred year old farmhouse, so uneven surfaces and creaks are to be expected and posed no problems.

Charming and peaceful, would stay again.

Lovely setting and quirky house we really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the charm. Probably not everyone`s cup of tea. It was very clean and COVID aware. Comfy bed and very private, we had the little annexe to ourselves.

We opted for continental breakfast as we don`t really like a cooked breakfast. However, this was really just toast, a pot of yoghurt and some fruit juice. It was adequate, but if any area to improve it would be this. I am sure the cooked breakfast would have been excellent if you wanted theis.

Relaxing Weekend

We received a warm welcome from Chrissy and nothing was too much trouble for her. Nice peaceful location which was a good base to explore the area. The day was started with a good English breakfast of our choice and served in our own dining area at the time of our choice.

Absolutely Brilliant thank you.

The hospitality and friendliness of Chrissy was fantastic, we did our own thing and were allowed too. The continental and full english breakfast was superb. Fresh raspberries, grapes and yogurt along with cereal was faultless. Chrissy informed us on arrival to not expect a boutique style stay , this is a farmhouse , which in our opinion was way above expectations and in such a lovely peaceful setting who could ask for more. Thank you Chrissy for letting us into your home and making us welcome. Would definitely have no hesitation of booking again.
