The unit did not meet our expectations. Parking was good, but it was not value for money.

The owner was very pleasant.

Having a microwave and more comfortable furniture. The cleanliness was not up to scratch. Not up to health and safety requirements eg. hot water tap temperature was scalding. The unit was very out dated.

I’m really sorry to write such a critical review but the place is very tired.

The location

Old, tiered, in need of repair and unclean. Everything in the unit was 40-60 years old. The bed covers were old and faded. The fan was fill of dust. The sheets were thin and grey. The towels were old and faded. The cooktop was dirty. A chair in the room had a cover that was completely laddered and full of holes. The toilet and bathroom floors were surface clean but all corners were dusty. Bathroom & toilet ceilings and walls were dusty too. The motel owner was lovely but I’m sorry to say this facility was the worst I’ve ever stayed in. I couldn’t bring myself to sit on anything apart from the sheets in the bed or the vinyl chairs. I would suggest any visitor ask to see the room before paying.

Nice and centric. Basic with all that one needs. Room included all that we needed. Owner very friendly and hard working! Very near the city centre.

All was good. Maybe the curtain in the shower, not a fan of that, but that’s not a problem any way.

Unpleasant thankfully it was only one night.

The man at the front desk was personable. Nice view of Wairoa river from our room. Quiet and close to town.

Everything about the place is tired. The paint is flaking, furniture is worn, sagging and need of attention. The beds are uncomfortable, mattresses hard bedding tired. Pillows are flat lumps of stuffing. Nothing was nice about our room. Though clean it was definitely not comfortable in any way. Sadly, will not stay here again.

Very friendly manager who communicated quickly via email. Chose accommodation as very close to Dargaville Little Theatre at which we were attending a concert in the evening

Cleanliness of unit was poor with cockroaches in kitchen. Facilities very tired and rundown. Missing window catches and peeling wallpaper. No smoke alarms.
