Alishan B&B YunMinGi has an one-level traditional lovely Taiwanese house and a beautiful contemporary 5-story building, both are connected by a short walkway. There is a fruit garden next to our guest house.

Very peaceful spot. Hotpot was a large amount of fresh food. Easy to take walks from the property through tea farms and bamboo forest. Wonderful tea tasting with the tea maker. Staff can point you to a lunch restaurant that's a 10 minute walk away, filled with delicious food and many locals. All around, excellent!

We had a comfortable room, next to the town of Shizhuo. The bus station which can take you to Alishan and other neighbouring villages is something like a 20/40 minute walk away (depends on whether you're going down or up). However, the hotel is placed in the middle of a tea plantation and the views (particularly sunset from the rooftop) are spectacular. The food (particularly the hotpot for dinner) was very nice, and the staff altogether was very helpful, giving us a lot of directions for example for how to get to a lovely sunrise spot!
The room was a bit weirdly organised, with a sort of impromptu shower and not much space to unpack. The warm water was only available until 10pm.
