It was so great our group stayed another 3-5 days!

We stayed two different dates while in Ubud. The location is perfectly in the middle of the shops and restaurants and is walking distance to one of the few places in Ubud with live music, food, and a dance club. The staff at the Bungalows were very friendly and accommodating. They are renovating the rooms and the standard great value and comfortable but the superior are beautifully renovated.

We had a little issue with hot water but we told them and they fixed it right away. It didn’t bother me, I just put some towels at the doors - remember you are in a jungle and the lizards can fit in tight spaces and like to visit :-) If you are a light sleeper, ask for a superior room or you will hear the music from the club near by. It didn’t bother me, but one that we were traveling with needed a quieter space and they fixed it right away and were able to provide her a quieter room.

I felt at home from the first minute

I can say it's one of the best hotels in Ubud. The staff is amazing, the rooms are huge, the location is unbeatable, and the pool is incredible. The owner is super friendly and a really good person; he recommended a driver who was undoubtedly the best I've ever had—a great guy. I'll try to come back soon. Thanks, family!

Disappointing 😷

The location is good

Don’t trust the reviews on booking. When we arrived there was nobody to show us the room. We had to find the guy in the property to do check in process. We knew that the property was not an high level hotel when booking but the photos are not showing reality. The room was not clean (except the bed), when flushing the toilet water was spreading everywhere, the pool was not usable (water not clean) and the general state of the property is decreasing. The owner offered us a free stay because he knew that his property was awful.

Gorgeous jungle budget stay that is close to everything!! Will visit again

Location is 100% amazing for Ubud. Very comfortable bed, the room was clean. The AC was strong. It was everything I needed for a budget stay. Pool and garden was great. The monkeys swinging in the trees in the morning was a real treat!! Loved the jungle peaceful sounds. Love that there was complimentary water in the room when I arrived, such a nice touch!

Nothing, I was satisfied. The bathroom needs a lick of paint sure, but hey, it’s a good price and still functional. I wouldn’t complain. Everything else weighed out how good it was for me.

Good value for money, safe and insect free, good air con, beautiful pool, hot shower, tranquil private location.

The pool was great, shady in the morning and the afternoon, nobody else using it as there are only 4 rooms at the property. My four year old enjoyed the shallow end of the pool, made it much more relaxing for me not having to hold her all the time in the pool or worrying about sunburn. The property was very quiet and tranquil considering it’s promiximty to the busy street. The pool overlooked a river, no monkeys around, and not able to be seen by any other properties. It felt very safe and secure as it was tucked away. Also there was a key to lock up belongings in a wardrobe which was nice to have additional security.

Cleanliness. Some things could be improved - the inside of the pillow was mouldy and no pillowcase protector, and the bin hadnt been wiped and had crusty stuff on it I had to touch to push things into the bin. Also the bathroom could use a good scrub. The cleaners did come everyday and change bin, make bed etc, and there were no mosquitos, roaches or ants which was a relief. If you don’t mind roughing it a bit, it’s incredible value for money.

Yes you can approach monkeys but they will thief your food 😆 the room are large, quiet surrounded by lush forest. Calm and peaceful.

There is a lack of maintenance and cleanness in that guest house. The swimming pool was as green as the forest, the room stinks moisture, the plumbery and electricity wires inside the bathroom unfixed which is dangerous. Broken tiles and hairs on the shower water evacuation pipe. No reception and no staff if need of assistance.

Good location and clean

Property was clean and well looked after. Staff were helpful and convenient location with a busy main street just down the road.

Its just outside the monkey forest and the monkeys were coming to our balcony every morning. It was fun initially but better not leave anything outside as the monkeys made a mess - emptied the bin, poured the coffee and other drinks out of the cups. Also having to pay cash for the stay was inconvenient.

The garden is beautiful, my room had a full view of the pool and jungle. The monkeys are very cute and entertaining, it’s a wonderful experience to wake up to them playing outside. The owner was very accomodating and made himself available at midnight to check me in on arrival. Room is huge.

Great outlook for a relaxing stay

Great spot, saw lots of monkeys. Friendly staff, carrying bags upstairs, no problem. Handy spot close but away from the hustle & bustle. View was amazing to wake up to every morning.

Steps a bit tricky for older guests. But definitely stay again.

Delightfully surprised

The property is literally right on the edge of monkey forest. It was so cool to wake up to monkeys on my balcony. The host was insanely nice and thoughtful, giving us his umbrella during a huge downpour. He was also super quick to reply to our booking.com messages on multiple occasions and was gracious to check us in so late.

Bit outdated but otherwise very nice and the monkeys make it so worth it.

A Wonderful Peaceful place to stay at Ubud

I love this place. I've stayed there many times in the past and will continue to...The management has changed since I last stayed, and Dewa was very pleasant to deal with.. The pool area is beautiful and has a range of natural wildlife from monkeys in the morning late afternoon to butterflies lizards dragonflies and sml birds. It's lovely looking through the trees to the stream below and the gardens are tropical well kept I would highly recommend any of my friends and any others to stay at this beautiful piece of paradise in the mist of ubud.

Very poor

Avoid this hotel at all costs. We arrived at Raka Rai Bungalows late at night. We had informed the hotel in advance about our arrival time. However, there was no one to greet us. We wandered around for about 15 minutes, not knowing which door to knock on. Despite the sign saying "Bungalows," what we stayed in was definitely not a bungalow. The interior of the apartment had clearly not been cleaned, and it was full of mold and dirt. There were spiderwebs all around, and the room was infested with bugs and flies. The pool, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, was never cleaned during our entire 5-day stay and remained unusable. I can say that we had a terrible experience staying in Ubud.

Superb

Beautiful resort, stunning Balinese garden and infinite pool facing the jungle. If you live in the rooms next to the jungle you can hear the running water in the creek. Central location in Ubud, you will see plenty of monkeys in the yard no need to go monkey Forrest.

Good aircon, hot water in shower, comfortable beds, clean bedroom. Great location.

The bathroom could do with a deep clean/remodel. The tiles are stained badly making it seem really dirty. The light switches are also dirty. Lots of steps to get to rooms which is not ideal with big suitcases (just something to be weary of.)

Exceptional

Raka Rai was located in the centre of Ubud, but it was nicely isolated to avoid that noise and commercial chaos in Ubud. The room was very large, including balcony to enjoy the nice view of the forest. Despite the accommodation doesn't have any sign to direct you to the reception, host was very polite arranging transport to Seminyak. It was very lovely stay at Raka Rai!

a cockroach came out of the drain when I was showering and some ants and bugs in the room, also in the corner of the room was black mold all in the corner. not soundproof and a bar just down the street playing super loud music all night long and could hear it just as if I were in the bar. was horrible for trying to sleep.

We loved our time here and would definitely stay again

The pool is so beautiful and with all the trees and bush around it feels like we were living in a jungle. We were even lucky enough to see some monkeys in the trees one morning. It was also super close to everything and an easy walk to the monkey forest

The bathrooms were a little bit old looking but everything worked well and was kept clean so it wasn’t an issue.

Basic but really easy stay with gorgeous pool and friendly host.

Was only here briefly, room was basic but spacious and light and pool was beautiful! Internet was good and booking response was fast and friendly. Relatively quiet for such a central location and an excellent warung next door and good coffee close. Felt really safe.
