Argyll Hotel Ullapool
The view from our room looked out over loch broom, it was amazing. The room was a good size and clean.. it had a sofa where you could sit and look at the view of look broom and the harbour
The room was a bit cold even with the heating on. And there was only one pillow, which was quite firm and high for me personally.

Good value for money and ideal location.
Breakfast was great.
Pillows were either really flat and hard or high and hard.

Great stay, value for money, awesome food, friendly staff
Location, cozy, modern decoration in rooms, good sized rooms, fantastic views and staff attention and dedication.
Food was fantastic!
Some mould on the bathroom ceilings, dated (but clean) bathroom decoration, I’m 6’2” so the hallways feel a bit small

Fantastic view and nice stay.
Fantastic view from bedroom window. Nice guy who was on check in and the bar. Very helpful. Decent pub.
Stairs were a bit narrow and twisty for carrying suitcases up two floors. The lady who was serving at breakfast was a bit rude.

Wouldn't stay again
Staff were great and food was alright.
Rooms were dated and needed decorating. The bathroom was also very dated and needed updating. The paint was pealing. The wallpaper was peeling and skirting boards scuffed dirty and dusty. Rooms did not look as advertised.

A perfect room with a perfect view
First of all, the view from our room exceeded our expectations: Just a lovely lookout gazing over Loch Broom. The hotel itself is located at the ideal spot: Central but not in the centre of noise. Whenever we had questions the staff was there for us and happy to help. Our room had everything we could wish for. We would go there again for sure!
We believe Argyll hotel would become even better if it offered its own breakfast instead of relying on the Ferry Boat Inn. Still, it was an excellent stay!

Great location but hotel needs a complete refurbishment
The location. The bed was very comforable
The whole place was very tired looking. No chair in room to leave my clothes. No bedside table or lamp beside my bed. The continental breakfast was poor. I know this hotel is probably for folk doing the NC500 but it is expensive for what you get

Excellent location with a great pub and friendly staff
Right in the center, huge comfy bed with great views. Breakfast included. Really friendly bar staff, great pub. Excellent food at the Ferry Boat across the road
Bathroom is quite dated

The hotel was ok for and overnight but we’d have struggled for a longer stay.
The location was ideal, one street back from the harbour.
Hotel decor was very tired and definitely needs updated.

The bedroom was really dirty. The top of the headboard was thick with dust. Certainly hasn’t been cleaned in a while. The bedside cabinets were disgusting wouldn’t put anything in the drawers.

Spend money on the rooms pls not the frontage
I have contacts in Pool.and what an amazing place in Scotland. But!! Crackin staff shouldn't be hiring staff quarters to very well paying guests. Instead of turning up with the Masretti try and use your business head and stick the money where it should be.🤔
Staff . Very nice

Disappointing and hugely overpriced
Good location and view
Dark, drab and very tatty decor. Curtains poorly hung. Insufficient sockets. No chair or full length mirror. No functioning WIFI. TV poor, no BBC channels. Bathroom was really grotty with cracked tiles, mucky grout and missing ceiling plaster. Extractor fan not working.

A bit dissapointing and pricey.
Bit wierd crossing the road and going to another building.
Sky tv constantly on in the bar/lounge ruined the ambiance of an otherwise bonny room, so we lest and ate elsewhere.

An OK place to park your head for the night. No frills.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, couldn't fault them. The meal we had at the sea food place was excellent, again staff were very friendly and the service was great.
Our bathroom had paint peeling off the ceiling and there was mould in the tiling around the shower area. The beds were basic with only 1 pillow which was nearly as thin as the duvet. Duvet was just big enough to cover the bed. There was tape on the floor to indicate a step, it needs to be replaced.
Also there was live music, but the sound proofing needs to be made better. You could hear it, and when customers came and went not good. I know its a pub with rooms but the two areas need to have better separation. The bar was lovely, then you walked into reception and Oh dear down Hill it went. I was informed the next morning that the rooms had been decorated over winter. Really! Sorry you need to spend a lot more than you have. Then you may have a nice place.

Good location but hotel beyond 'tired'
Location was good and hotel was clean enough but past 'tired'.
Hotel really needs refurb. Continental breakfast really poor. Staff bored, not interested and no pastries left by 8hr30am.
There was an outrageously loud party right below our room singing and screaming at top of their voices till 2am! Totally unacceptable.

Never had a worse night in a hotel.
The proximity to town centre.
It was above a pub that was loud past midnight and the noise continued within the building until almost 2am. Even before that I could hear discussions and TV clearly through the walls - there was no soundproofing at all. The duvet was uncomfortable, pillows insanely thick and hard (I changed to decorative cushion instead in the end), housekeeper the following day was helpful and offered me another pillow that may have been better but I never stayed to find out. I got barely couple of hours of sleep on Friday and since it was likely to be loud on Saturday night as well, I handed over my keys to the housekeeper at about midday and moved to another hotel that had a room available.

Poor value for money
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Before arrival we were asked if we would want to book evening meals as "... dinner fills up fast in our restaurant so let us know if you would like to dine with us." As it turned out there is no restaurant and the only food available were bar meals, which although of reasonable quality we expected better. Not table was reserved and we had to wait about 45 minutes before they would take out order as the one chef was too busy.
Breakfast served in the jointly owned Ferry Boat Inn, across the road and down a lot of stairs. The "free" breakfast was continental breakfast offering croissants, fruit juice, cereal and coffee/tea. Any cooked breakfast was an "upgrade' requiring an addtional charge.
The room was reasonable but could have done with a refresh.
The bathroom though was very poor. The shower fittings were broken. The electric shower was either too cold or scalding. The wet wall within the shower cubicle was showing evidence of black mould at the bottom of the corner where the two sides joined. Outside the shower the raised plinth which the shower truck sat on also shower black mould and an open join to the floor at the rear. The toilet seat was loose at onward side and slid around dangerously when sat on. Only one part used toilet roll was supplied, fortunately this was sufficient.
There was parking at the rear of the the building but access was through the bar and in the mornings this was locked up and since there were no staff to be found this required a walk to end of the street, up to the next street then along to the entry to the car parking, about 400 yds or so. Not the best thing with a full case of luggage and bags.

Handy for the ferry but a bit disappointing for the price
Location..view..
Hot water took a good 10 minutes to run through. Coffee cups stained. Tired..needed some tlc.
