Boutique hotel Shamon

NOTHING!!!

The owner is deceiving, unprofessional and lacks customer service skills. We arrived there around 9 PM and at 10 he told us this is his house and that everything is closing (doors, lights), we need to go to our rooms and no alcohol allowed on the premise, except for the cheap options he offered; the booking was done at a "3 start hotel", not in someone's house. We booked 3 rooms, 2 comfort and a superior one. The superior one has a JOKE OF A BATHROOM, it is essentially a box with a curtain instead of a door and with the ventilation oriented towards the room where you sleep. How can this be a 3-star hotel that asks 170 per night and offers these conditions? We just wanted to go in the garden outside and have a drink before going to bed (we didn't even got a chance to take a sit) and he made a real show about it, that we are gonna make noise and scare the protected animals(?!) and that again, this is HIS HOUSE and we need to obey by his rules. Very defensive and child-like behavior, everything is the guest's fault, not his, started arguing with us, even mentioning this is a "boutique" hotel, meaning he can do whatever he wants. We were having such a good time and suddenly, in the middle of our vacation, the hotel owner was arguing with us at 10 PM on the meaning of the word "boutique"! We left in the middle of the night back home, such poor customer service has never happened to any of us. BE AWARE FUTURE GUESTS, they guy has a RULE BOOK in every room that is not posted on the website of course, where are vaguely mentioned things that you can't do in his house and he will use it whenever is convenient for him. In a very creepy way, he stood by the window, tucked in the curtains, to check us out in the parking lot when we were leaving; what kind of hospitality business owner does this?

Great attention to detail in the room. Very friendly staff. We didn't have much time in the hotel but would certainly stay again and recommend it to friends.

Beautiful building, lovely garden, nice & comfortable interior, beautiful stained-glass windows, beautifully renovated bathroom, incredibly friendly people that own and manage the property

The bedside table fell off the wall when we got into bed, but we had a good laugh about it. The street at the front of the house is quite busy and not the nicest view, but this also means the property is very easily accessible. In any case, the highs very much outweighed the (insignificant) lows. I would definitely visit this property again!

Wonderful place with very friendly, welcoming hosts. We stayed as it looked very beautiful and comfortable (it was) and there was free and easy parking available. We were easily able to get to where we needed to be at the coast in the morning.

Windy and Thomas are very friendly and respectful people trying to make your visit at Shamon as good as it can be. Beautiful house with a good taste of decoration, beautiful bathrooms. Excellent breakfast.

Amazing couple running the place, very kind and helpful, beautiful restored villa with unique details, large size garden, close to shops if needed, great breakfast.

We got 2 very big rooms for us and the kids, but on the basement floor, maybe because we asked for the rooms to be close together, so not much air came in the rooms. But otherwise the rooms were fantastic.

Reception opening times are limited but in line with checking so it's not a problem

You helped us organize our bikes, brought our dinner order up to our and served us a incredibly nutritious homemade breakfasts in the morning. We couldn't have asked for more! We loved the building and the room, atmosphere was great and owners were very nice!

The location is very central but right next to a busy road - we still didnt hear much from inside of the room though

The hotel is located in a very nice little town with enough restaurants and old architecture for a nice walk around. It's close to Brugge and Gent. The hotel itsself is absolutely stunning, all the old details are very nice preserved . The owners of the place run the hotel with their heart and soul. It's a pleasure to see these kind of places still exist. The breakfast is also stunning and completes the wonderful experience. We will go back anyway.

The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. There is an Aldi's next door. And of course, it is beautiful and unique.

I would have liked more bottled water and towels.

Really nice house, renovated with much respect for the old features. Really friendly personnel, would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area

I have been to a lot of places in belgium. Nothing compared to this place. The staff were welcoming and very helpful, and the buding was beautiful - full of charm. I will come back.

Nothing it was perfect

Big room, big windows, smartly designed, cozy sitting area inside the room where we could have breakfast on our own pace, amazing bathroom, very pleasant overall decoration, very flexible and helpful staff with excellent room service. It was a great experience.

Walls are not good to isolate sound, so you can really hear other guests (not a big problem, but not perfect either, perfectly manageable). Good isolation from street noise though.

Lady from reception was lovely and really helpful, rooms were big and clean, beds were comfortable and whole decor was really nice.

Electric kettles were too small for a big group, rooms were too high for small children
