Dirty, damp & grotty but very very cheap

Reasonably central location 2 mins from seafront, 5 from town centre, 10 from station. In theory, very well priced - seemed like a really great bargain until I saw and smelled the room.

The room smells of damp and mildew, which the owner assured me was "linseed oil" which he'd been rubbing into wooden furniture. Even if any of the second-hand-shop rescue furniture actually showed any signs of that much love, the two smells are very distinctive, and they're not similar! The leather suite shown in the pictures, now has paint-splatters all over the armchair and a rip patched up the sofa sofa - better, at least, thatn the (filthy) chairs in the window alcove, where no-one's even patched the rips. Bedding, though superficially clean (unlike the also-filthy cushion on top of the pillows on each bed - was at least superficially clean but with old stains, and in all areas the cleaning was at best superficial, filth and staining being visible on closer inspection or by moving anything. Some of the furniture in the pictures (like that glass coffee table) has been replaced now by cheap tatty white mdf stuff. There's no soundproofing, no wifi that I could find (despite the website saying there is) and the heating only operates between certain hours which the owner/manager told me as if he was proud of them when I arrived around 3:30 in the afternoon to a freezing atmosphere that just underlined the damp smell. That damp is evidenct in patches of blow/bubbled paintwork throughout, and maybe in what might have been either mould or just long-engrained dust (to the point where it's actually black) in corners.

We were visiting relatives how only were a short walk away. So really enjoyed our time together

It was self-catering .I liked the location for it was only a short walk to the front and beach. There where plenty of cafes and restaurants around

I was not able to turn the central heating down. Didn't like the look of the shower and shower head

Disguised it was dirty

Nothing nice about it It was absolutely disgusting Dirty not fit for a dog I paid £140 for this horrible place We didn’t stay we had to come home I just couldn’t sleep in there How can this be rented out 🤮🤮

Excellent location, friendly host and spacious, warm apartment.

Could do with a deep clean, particularly floors and bathroom. Cracked sink in bathroom needs replacing and crack on splashback in kitchen.

Fantastic little getaway,

Host were friendly and available. Beds comfortable, shower ok. Bonus of a fridge and microwave. Although the room and facilities were dated it was perfect for our for our trip. Bonus of finding the Busy Bees chipshop round the corner (10/10)

Absolute nightmare

I booked this apartment through booking.com when we arrived the apartment looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, cobwebs, dust, dirty sides, dirty floors, mattresses filthy, we had nowhere else to stay so thought we would clean it ourselves and make the most of what we had, a few days into our stay we woke up to the kitchen area flooded, a lot of our belongings were damaged including my kindle fire which is totally broken, board games that have been in the family for years, so irreplaceable!!, clothes dripping wet, footwear dripping wet, etc the list goes on! the landlady didn't refund us the full amount of our holiday and we had to leave the apartment and come home, cutting our family holiday short, the landlady had no regard for the stress and damages this had caused. I don't want any other family to end up out of pocket and as stressed as we all are after this stay, this property is a danger to peoples health and safety, my daughter has asthma, after the first night she couldn't even sit in the living room in the apartment as something, god knows what, really affected her chest and is now coughing stuff up off her chest and is trying to get a doctors appointment, she had to take antihistamines every day while we were there as did my grandson. This property is a disgrace and a health hazard. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!! Thankfully the beach was nearby so spent as much time out of the property as possible.
