As expected from older, renovated socialist hotel

Hotel was as expected - renovated socialist hotel very near the center of Gabrovo. Reception was 24/7, we arrived after midnight and we had no problem with the check-in.

Due to the location of the hotel and extremelly hot weather, the room we had was rather noisy - both from street traffic and AC termal pumps from other rooms. Also, older hotel have specific smell, I cannot describe it but it is a mix between cleaning agents and cigarete smoke from very long time ago. We moved the beds together and under one of them we found a hair band and some snacks :D

Recently refreshed rooms in a great location. The beds are a bit firm but comfortable with great pillows. Nice bathrooms, fast WiFi. The restaurant has a nice terrace and pleasant atmosphere.

Almost nothing.

It was a wedding in the hotel restaurant, so the music played loud all night, the parking was full with wedding people, so we park the car on the street in the neighborhood. In the bathroom there were no cosmetic products (shampoo, or bath creme), fortunatly we have some in luggage. The breakfast was awful, only some bread, boiled eggs and two types of sallami, come cereals, and that's all. Definitly, on another trips in Bulgaria-Gabrovo region we well NOT stay at this ugly and communist hotel.

This hotel is convenient for business travelers. Very good value for money. The best in the hotel are the location (city center), kitchen, restaurant, parking and the bed.

no worth for the money

the location

there was no hot water later in the evening until the next morning and the staff from the hotel were very appatic when we asked why there is no warm water. the breakfast was very very poor. no extra bread allowed.
