Will not come back there because of very bad breakfast, althoung the price was high for the room

All was good except of the breakfast, it was just very poor that it is better not to have. just a bread with some small vegetables, fixed breakfast for all. Even there is no proper coffee machine for milk steaming.

The house is good, the restaurant for lunch and dinner is Ok, although plenty better places outside

Great place and location don't pay for breakfast

Great location with a very clean and nice room and very nice restaurant with outdoor tables

I booked a double room with an extra bed and breakfast. The extra bed was missing but I didn't argue with them about it I was solo travel. The breakfast was whatever the cook decides in the morning in my case was French toast/Eggy bread and if you can't eat bread like me you are screwed. When I asked to have something else instead like scrambled eggs even to pay out of my pocket I was told the restaurant is not open yet.

Great stay with the restaurant downstairs

Very nice location, good food at the restaurant. Comfortable rooms, even though some of them have the bathroom in the hallway.

The only drawback was that breakfast was limited, just one option, so if you are vegan there is not much to eat.

Old style very well renovated house, very clean, all the needed equipment, parking, at 100m of center... Restaurant serves absolutely wonderful food, and even more the desserts. People with love and passion for food and cooking are working in the kitchen, for sure

Next time, if we visit this place again we will bring with us pilows and earplugs.

The guest house was very clean.

On the second evening we ask for another pilows, but the one of empoyees reject our asking with exuse that they don't has others. The noise from the outside of the restaurant was very anoying. The breakfats in the second morning was banitza without chees and eggs, but we were so hungry that we eat the baked crusts.

They didn’t have large enough sheets for the double bed. I of course asked them but “that’s all we have”. One breakfast option. A bit inconvenient parking lot - two rows of cars, one blocking the other. No coordination who will be leaving when.

Room was very clean and quite cozy. Bed was big and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Even though we reserved a parking space in the end there was no place for us to park, except if we block another car.

Great location, clean, cosy, nice hospitality, parking - we will be back! :-)

Very nice hotel restaurant, open for public. Food quality and service were excellent! We were there out of the peak season and had no problem to park in the property owned parking (you get a remote control on the reception). There is no 24/7 reception, but you have a key for the side doors and can enter/exit as you wish. Hotel is located in the city centre 100m from tourist information centre and walking distance from all important locations.

It would be useful to mention that the bathroom in this particular room is detached (just across the hole). It is not shared bathroom, but due to the building restrictions (historical building), it was not possible to have a bathroom in the room. It was not a problem, just needs to be explained beforehand. Apparently, all other rooms have a bathroom in the room as a standard.

Nice touch to the old center of Gabrovo

Perfect location in the center, large apartment. Very nice restaurant, with good food and an interior, and breakfast with traditional Bulgarian food.

It is not a minus at all, but the stairs to the rooms are a bit difficult if you are big or with high heels. ;-)

The location was really good, private parking, beautiful building and renovation works done.

Noise coming from the restaurant and street. Bathroom was outside of the room connected with a small hallway that also led to another room. Although the front door to the hallway could be locked, the staff came knocking on the door late at night saying we need to keep it open so other guests could enter to get to their room. Not very pleasant!

A lovely place to stay!

I stayed at the hotel during my business trip and was pleasantly surprised by its superb facilities. The staff was very helpful and well mannered, making sure everything was OK for us. The room was spacious and very clean. We had a lovely evening at the hotel's restaurant. The dinner and the breakfast were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Соколови къщи, and we would definitely stay there during our next trip to Gabrovo.

fair value for money

fantastic location, extremely clean, very comfortable bed, and if you are hungry… the restaurant is excellent. the breakfast was simple but delicious.

the bathroom is not in the room, it’s private, but you need to walk out the hallway to go there. a little disappointing. the staff speak poor English unfortunately, they might come across as rude, it might be a language barrier. no minibar
