The location is nice, set back from the river Shannon.
This 18th century building is beautiful.
Staff were excellent; shout out to Josephine. She welcomed us, served us in the bar & at dinner, giving recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect.
Our room (107) was cold; adjusting the thermostat made no difference. The ensuite bathroom had a window that couldn't close, a piping hot radiator and external noise.

A lovely unpretentious old fashioned hotel with all the good things that go with that. Stephanie our receptionist welcomed us warmly, Josephine, our supper waitress, could not have been nicer or more helpful, and Maggie our waitress at breakfast was also really great. We were visiting to go to a funeral and the friendly welcome we received meant a huge amount. Thank you all.

The roast dinner and breakfast tasted great. The bedroom was huge and staff had been very friendly. The castle looked impressive upon arrival and you can see why weddings are held there. A little out of town but we had been touring Ireland so the location was fine with free parking that suited our needs.
The bathroom was very small, the bed felt old and lumpy, the sheets had very low thread count, they had been clean but hard against your skin, and the pillows extremely thin. We didn’t sleep well at all.
Dinner was a bit of a joke, the food was amazing and staff very friendly but they seemed super unorganised, leaving napkins on the ground, running towards tables which made us feel rushed, talking to clients from our table was unprofessional behaviour and our waiter kept forgetting things like our drinks, she seemed super rushed. Grateful the food was beautiful because the experience was one we have never had before! Hoping to was just a bad day. Again very lovely personality. We thought breakfast was going to be unorganised but when we got downstairs the restaurant was run professionally.

Rooms, restaurant and staff were wonderful, especially with out kids. We opted to include breakfast in our room rate and it was wonderful.
Huge shout out to Darma for how kind and patient she was, my son adored her..

Fabulous place, great staff, spacious room. Really well decorated for the festive season.
Slightly limited lunch menu on a Sunday, but great food nonetheless.

I travelled to Limerick after a long day at an expo. I live with a disability and driving long distances causes severe pain. I booked this hotel through Booking.com so I could rest before heading home.
When I arrived, the staff refused my cash payment even though the Booking.com listing did not warn me about a card-only rule. I explained that I forgot my card and asked them to accept the cash. They refused and I had to drive all the way home while in pain.
They later rang me to point to a “House Rules” section on their own website. This was not shown during the Booking.com process. A booking platform should give clear payment rules before arrival.
This experience left me disappointed and hurt. The hotel should update its information and match what customers see when booking on a phone.

A lovely little hotel which is charming, although a little dated downstairs.
Comfortable large bedrooom, clean bathroom and very friendly staff.
The food for dinner and breakfast was delicious.
I usually stay in Castletroy park in Limerick and didn't realise this is a sister hotel of the group. Will definitely stay again, as the Park has become soul less.
The dining room and bar could do with an overhaul. Furniture and decor is dated.

Apts are spacious! It was ideal for what we needed! Staff were super nice and helpful! Check in and out was super quick!
They could def do with a bit of a refresh! The bedrooms are outdated and the shower space was super tight, the shower head and pressure were poor. Just compared to apts and holiday homes available now a days they need a bit of a sprucing up!

Our room was clean. Breakfast was good with ample quantity and choice. For the cost it was better than satisfactory
Our bathroom was satisfactory, but my daughter's room shower had a very poor flow of water. The hotel overall was a little shabby, needing a redecoration.

The staff were friendly
The bed was lobsided in my room. There was no view out the window as they had safety glass on them?? The hall carpets were worn n shabby. The ceiling in part of the hall was covered in water stains and bubbling paintwork.

Old world atmosphere, nice bar area and reception. Renovated and clean bedroom and bathroom and very friendly and helpful staff.
The only fail in my opinion was the breakfast. The warm breakfast was ok but the fruit, juices and cereals need to be updated

Spacious room.
Nice staff.
Grounds good.
We stayed in room 112 and suffered an industrial noise all night - a loud kitchen fridge? Compressor? When it was off all was peaceful but when it kicked in then a very disturbing background electronic noise.
We complained, staff acknowledged, refunded breakfast costs but a nights sleep was what we stayed for!!

The hotel is set on beautiful grounds and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a lodge which was great and very spacious. The breakfast & lunch were very good.
The shower was dreadful had no power and I was hardly able to rinse my hair. The hotel needs some tlc, the guest rooms and common areas looked very tired and its a shame as its a beautiful hotel.

The door closers on the room doors. My arm is still bruised where the door hit me as I was exiting.

Staff were friendly at reception & breakfast. Grounds of hotel were very nice & leisure centre was great.
Apartment had very dirty old stained carpet & an old couch that also looked dirty. We had a baby crawling around & it didn’t seem clean. Apartments need to be upgraded.

We stayed in one of the self-catering lodges. It was perfect for our needs. The lodge was spotless and the facilities very good. The hotel staff were excellent, extremely helpful, very friendly.
We stayed in Limerick to attend a concert in Thomond Park, while the hotel very helpfully arranged taxis for us, it's a bit out of the way from Thomond Park and Limerick city if you don't want to have to drive to them.

Great central location for exploring the south west of Ireland. Easy access to a good road network to get where you are going. Excellent pool. Staff were very helpful when we woke up to a puncture from our previous days travel. We plan to return next year to use it as a base for a longer stay.

Staff were absolutely amazing
Lift took about 3 minutes to go up one floor, then stairs to next door with a baby and pram etc and luggage. Nobody offered help! Or told us the situation.

Very comfortable and spacious room (family room). Also the breakfast was terrific. The grounds are beautiful and there are nice walks that you can take along the river towards the village. Ample parking free of charge. The staff were super helpful and friendly and they helped me to set up a special surprise for our travelling companions.
The hotel is a little dated. Having been there many times over the last few decades, there has been little modernisation but perhaps this adds to the charm of the place.

Location
Food
Hotel looks and feels a bit tired.
Grounds are neglected and not kept in any meaningful way so ignore the photos online " obviously old "which is a shame because of the setting and location.
Bar has no atmosphere during the daytime.

Spacious bedroom, lovely hotel decor with the charm of a country house building. The food and Guinness was good too!
TV did not work which was found to be due to two reasons. The set was not plugged in and on investigation by me I found the plug and socket was hidden behind TV which was mounted to the wall on a non moveable bracket. This meant climbing on furniture to gain access behind the set to plug it in. And when plugged in, I still could not operate it as the remote control was faulty. But the main problem was the sink in the bathroom as when operating the plunger type plug, it stuck in place meaning I was unable to drain the sink following a shave. On reporting both problems to reception everything was rectified by a lovely maintenance chap but given the status of the hotel I found this disappointing.

Location is good. Leisure facilities were good. Most staff were very pleasant.
We stayed in one of the "garden lodges". These are separate from the main hotel, and are in the same area of the grounds as a beauty salon. This means parking is not guaranteed as salon customers use the same area.
In our lodge, 1 shower had only boiling hot water with a non functioning cold tap. The other shower would not get above luke warm.
One of the breakfast servers would silently walk past the table and take plates away without speaking to us at the table. When I arrived for breakfast, most of the food in the hot drawers had gotten cold, and was refilled not too long after I had eaten and left. This was at 9 am with breakfast running until half 10 on the Sunday.
The worst thing from our perspective was that we were staying in a self catering lodge. Any other self catering accommodation I have stayed in does NOT have cleaning staff coming in while you are out without being asked.
We came back to discover cleaning staff had been in the lodge without our knowledge or consent, with all of our luggage and other items in there. We were not informed of this policy on arrival, but we were asked to sign that we wouldn't smoke in the room. This made the cleaners coming in without permission feel like we were being checked up on.
Finally, when I went to the manager about these issues, she took them down and said "Thanks for the feedback" and nothing else. She defended the cleaning staff coming in as "we would always have that happen". The other issues would be dealt with.
No real apology for any of it, came off as defensive excuses to get me to leave.
I would never stay here again.
Incredibly Disappointed.

Great location, and very spacious apartment, in a lovely garden area of the hotel.
Lockable bedroom doors and lockable main apartment door, so very secure.
Staff friendly and welcoming.
Apartment was very old-fashioned, and desperately needs updating and decorating.
It smelt very ‘fusty’ upon arrival, and throughout our stay. I don’t think it had been in use for a while.
It was very dark and the light bulbs were not bright enough to light the rooms in the day (it was dark even in the daytime), and at night.
It wasn’t very clean and there was thick dust on the skirting boards.
It was also an adapted apartment for a disabled family. However, we did not need this, nor did we request it.
There was a kettle and a microwave on a shelf in the lounge area, but no sink, and so we had to fill up the kettle in one of the bedroom sinks! There was also no plug socket next to the kettle on the shelf, and so we had to boil the kettle on the floor at a plug socket low down.
For the price per night, it should at least include breakfast, but it was extra.
There was a wedding on the Saturday and so the hotel was busy for breakfast Sunday morning and we couldn’t get a table, as there was none available. We had to find breakfast elsewhere, but didn’t manage to find a full Irish, which was what we wanted.
