Convenient with friendly staff and a good quality breakfast in lovely surroundings

The grounds are lovely and the breakfast good quality buffet style serving both full cooked breakfasts and more continental style. The walk in shower was also very nice.

Room was functional but quite small, not much space around the end of the bed to get to the bathroom.

Excellent place to stay, would recommend.

Facilities were great, staff friendly & helpful. The location was fantastic as you can just walk straight into Cookham village where there are lots of lovely pubs and restaurants. Breakfast was also very nice.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and happy to help. The shower was fabulous and great parking!

The room was quite small and the TV was quite basic so my son and I used my laptop to watch a film instead. The breakfast was nice and the takeaway coffee cups were a good idea :)

Fantastic value for money, excellent facilities, good breakfast.

The facilities outside of the room itself were fantastic, the breakfast was excellent, not as wide a choice as some of the mainstream hotels, but only slightly less so. The food was cooked to perfection, not baked until it was hard and dry. The coffee (Latte) was even nicer than a Cost, so much so that I didn't have my usual cup of tea, but a 2nd coffee. The Shower was fantastic, I usually like a hot shower, but I could not tolerate the heat of the shower getting to it's max temp.

The room was described as a "Small" double, which it was. For someone with mobility issue, or perhaps on the more portly side, may have struggled to get past the end of the bed to the bathroom. The TV in the room was a bit outdated, lower picture quality likely to be 720p, not 1080 or above. No smart features.

Did exactly what it said on the ad. Everything I needed at a good pricel

breakfast: good variety of food, hot drinks etc to choose from room: heated towel rail that actually works! decent supportive mattress; TV without a bright red stand-by light; plenty of USB sockets.; comfortable chair. Polite and helpful staff. Site easy to navigate. Calm atmosphere of grounds.

breakfast: hydration choices limited to sugary drinks full of preservatives etc. An urn of iced water would be really easy to provide! Soundtrack to breakfast was irritating room: smell of boiler fumes or car engine; internet/wi-fi access not great, but that could have been due to international hacking incident.

The fact that this place is badly/falsely worded on the internet, beware of what "Cozy room" means!!! When you actually pay for the room you're then told that you've booked a "Small double room" it didn't say that anywhere on the info page of the booking until I'd paid!! They are correct, the room is pokey, very small indeed, you have to squeeze past the foot of the very average double bed to get into the bathroom. It was rather like staying in a collage dorm room. Very disappointing. I would not stay there again.

We had a comfortable night and enjoyed being able to use the bar in the evening.

Location, ease of booking, bar, coffee machine in the bar, grounds, ensuite room. Ample parking. Helpful staff.

USB points in the bedroom would be helpful. The tea bags in the room seemed dated and contained mostly green or fruit flavoured teas. Some more 'normal' tea like English Breakfast and Earl Grey would be useful. Breakfast was good but more brown bread would be appreciated.

Location was good surrounded by beautiful contryside. Gardens were lovely and well kept fish ponds. Room had a good veiw.

The bar was closed on a Saturday afternoon and onlybopened wgen we asked a membercif staff. The restaurant was closed saturday afternoon and evening. There was a vending machine which was almost empty. It felt like the hotel was operating just rooms only. The breakfast was cold apart from baked beans. No jam or marmalade for toast. Juice machine was out of order. No fruit left. Very underwhelming.

I was visiting for business. I was due to go back to the hotel at 3am. I popped in about midday the day before to check that would be ok. The girls behind the counter said yes, of course. I arrived at 4am and the one person on duty couldn't speak English, didn't know how to get to the room or where the room was. I asked when breakfast was, he said no breakfast (this was a lie) but meant I couldn't have breakfast! Complete shambles!!

A good base, if it suits your needs. Would not be so for a couple who spend time in the room.

It is set up primarily for business meetings and conferences. However, the facilities are of a hotel perhaps without an all day restaurant. Breakfast is cooked and buffet style. Evening meals are available at some lovely local pubs some on the river. Nice grounds and set up

At breakfast there are 6 different teas to choose from but NO breakfast tea! I purchased tea bags. It will be fine if you like infused redcurrant tea or green peppermint, but not for me. Also the room is tiny. The double bed takes up at least half of the room. You have to shimmy sideways past the end of the bed to access the toilet. All this was fine for me as a relatively mobile single. However, I would never take a partner there is not enough room for two. Having said all that, I enjoyed my stay , as I used it as a base and went out early every day and came home late.

Location was good.Breakfast was 0k.As the weather was rather warm and humid the underfloor heating appeared to be on making the room even hotter.

Food at breakfast should have been kept cold especially the large bowl of yogurt. Not very appetizing and somewhat risky in the warm weather.Bread very poor and no selection.

No recommended if you need rest and an early start

The location

The noise from the bar and other guests, who were presumably using the training facilities there. The music from the bar was loud outside until 9pm and the bar music which was still audible across the green was on until around 11pm. Other guests were extremely noisy up to 1am. I wouldnt stay again based on the lack of rest and relaxation. As a gesture of good will I have been given a 20% refund for the inconvenience.

The location was excellent. There was plenty of shaded parking.

The breakfast on Day 1 was probably the worst breakfast I have ever experienced in any hotel anywhere in the world. The fruit juice was a selection of fizzy drinks on tap - Sprite, etc. I asked if there was fresh juice and no, there was none. I thought there must have been some mistake? I ventured to the hot selection. There were some dried up fried eggs, bacon and sausages etc with no covers on them with flies all over them! The same for the pastries - flies and wasps! I didn't risk eating any of this so I decided some toast was the safest option. I toasted the white bread (no choice of wholemeal etc) and had this with some wrapped butter and marmalade. On Day 2, we decided we would eat elsewhere and demand a refund for the breakfasts and so I ventured to the restaurant to take photos of the dismal display, but it was closed for cleaning and we were referred to another room. We thought we must be in the wrong place, some private event, perhaps, but we went in. The hot food was all in covered buffet servers and looked OK. The doors and windows were closed so there were no wasps. There were three jugs of fruit juice and some fresh looking croissants etc. We had a nice cold breakfast of fruit juice, fruit, cereal and yogurt, lovely croissants and coffee. So what was that first day all about?

Good value for money

Rooms were small but had everything we needed, a decent sized bathroom with a lovely shower and very clean. Breakfast was delicious.

Pre stay info sharing. Breakfast was a little chaotic with lots of things running out, but once asked staff were more than happy to replenish. Perhaps they just need to be more aware of when things are running low - but it was delicious. The rooms were very hot, but thankfully we had read this before our stay and had brought fans which sorted the heat.
