Very disappointed and place need some money spent on it.

Not a lot.

Breakfast under heaters for too long - very dry. Room too cold with one radiator in corner of room. (44) (yes I know I could turn it up and did) Could also do with a thicker or extra duvet. Stains all over carpet which appeared to have been there a long time. Radiator in bathroom rusty. Generally room looked shabby and as if the complete room had not received any maintenance at all. Quite unexpected and unlike others we have stayed at in the area. Very much over rated and not value for money.

Lovely little break in a lovely village

Beautiful old property with lots of history, in a gorgeous little village with access straight to a river walk at the bottom of the street we have stayed here twice now and would return very dog friendly, staff are great and we received a complimentary room upgrade which was nice

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They managed to help us with an early check in due to our timings for a wedding and were great at supporting us on our first trip with our 10 week old baby. The breakfast was decent and plentiful.

The keys were a little unclear (two locks but only one key for each door) and the shower had limescale so it was tricky to position in the right place. Extremely minor things on what was a great stay!

Very pleasurable stay in a beautiful hotel with lovely staff.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Bed was really comfortable and room was quiet. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of options.

No information left in room. The bathroom was so cold and towel rail didn’t come on. It wasn’t until the morning we were leaving that we found a switch in the bedroom to turn it on. If this was on information left in room this would have been rectified. Minor complaint only.

Delighted with this hotel

The breakfast was delicious - great choices. Loved the live music and general ambiance. Beautiful room and we were given a free upgrade so even better than expected. Very comfy bed. Will definitely stay again and have actually extended our stay as so impressed with this hotel.

Scrambled eggs would have been better freshly prepared as they were a bit dry and tasteless but everything else was great.

Filthy dining room chairs. The one loo for the dining room was in sufficiently private. The first night there was a group of drunk men ( builders?) in the restaurant. Bit intimidating.

Quiet beautiful location enjoyable

The location was in millionaire row village. The bell hotel /pub was very old with beams quirky stairs and occasionally low door ways just how I like. When we arrived we had booked a classic king but was up graded to a superior 🥰There was a lovely walk down along the river which is at bottom of the street tucked away. Perfect place for exploring and ideal location to use as a base.

The room was old tired walls were badly marked. Dirty marks on furniture. Hallway carpet was disgusting and dirty. The hotel need a good clean and decorate. It was a big disappointment. We did complain about the state of the room was offered the one next door which wasn't any better.

Really nice stay in a great location

Room was very nice and spacious with a big bed. Bathroom was good with big walk in shower. Plenty of drawer space.

Only picky thing was the stain on the floor. It could have done with some more hangers for the wardrobe and a coat hanger somewhere in the room.

Lovely breakfast and a fascinating local history!

Breakfast was lovely - loads of choice. The room was classy, yet quirky - a freestanding bath at the bottom of the bed! The staff were great and went above & beyond - Martin noticed me googling the history of the building and gave us a very welcome mini history lesson ... and his colleague very kindly offered to open the barn to let us look inside.

Perfect cozy English pub stay

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy English pub. We were there for a wedding but made use of the pub and restaurant during our stay. The dinner was delicious and overall a good ambiance in the pub. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was only missing a bath.

Good for one night’s sleep! Average amenities 😊

It was a lovely spacious room with a very big, comfy bed! The room was in an out building separate from the pub so it was very quiet!

We’re not sure what issues the kitchen was facing at the time, but we ended up waiting an hour for a chicken burger and two portions of chips. After 2 hours of travelling it wasn’t the comfiest of situations! We were offered a free drink for the wait which never came. The shower pressure was also poor - the shower head couldn’t be pivoted out and being relatively tall I had to contort slightly! The shampoo pump wasn’t working either but luckily I brought my own. Whilst it was great to be in an outbuilding, it looked like it was set up for a wedding for the day after which in of itself wasn’t an issue, except for wedding quests going in and out very loudly to take a look and go back in. Perhaps they thought that the place was only full of wedding guests so we understand!

Our room was in an annex. We arrived late, and the lighting not great. Room smelt musty, decor in desperate need of updating. Think the annex rooms not used often. Lots of mould around the windows, that were very dirty
