Berkeley Hotel guesthouse has well-appointed rooms. Can't fault the quality of the bed, bedding, furnishing and decor. It's conveniently located for access to the beach and nearby restaurants.
Unfortunately there was no where to store luggage before or after check-in. So had to pay for a luggage storage service a 15-minute walk away. Had I known this at the time of booking, would have stayed elsewhere. Also the room we were in faced an internal courtyard with limited airflow, making the room warm and stuffy despite the small fan at the height of summer.

Friendly and efficient welcome. Free toffees location
Inadequate toiletries/ tea coffee milk ( although the manager gave us more). Poor flush in toilet and shower not hot on arrival although was hot later on. Also a weak shower. We switched our booking from the 3 star pier hotel to the 4 star Berkeley ( same price) but don’t think it was up to four stars.

The host is very lovely. I received a phone call regarding my check-in. It is one of the day that all taxis are busy. I managed to check in after 7pm. She understands. It was a tiring day after my locum shift in the hospital. I have a nice, spacious room, very clean, in a good location. I had a very good night's sleep and was ready to work the next day. Well recommended.
None. All in high standards..
