Do not stay here. The staff is rude, rooms are dilapidated, and I was overcharged not once, but twice. The man at the front desk was extremely rude when I checked in. I was also told the room I booked was not available so they had to give me a smaller, lower quality room. He then charged me for the small room even though I had already paid double the price for the original room. I noticed that an hour later so I was able to get a refund. However, they would not give me my money back for me having prepaid for the nicer room, saying “they don’t know what Agoda is, we don’t work with them”. I submitted a complaint and dispute with Agoda and the hotel still refuses the refund the difference. Kandersteg in general I don’t recommend visiting.

It is better to book your stay in Berns more convenient then take the train to Kandersteg. It is beautiful but nothing to do around town except hiking
You can stay in more active place then take the train on the day you want to hike.

They did not explain when the front desk open or close. Some staff are rude and some were good. They did not explain anything you have to found out things as you go. Not informative when you check in
