The breakfast was the highlight — authentic Swiss cheese, fresh milk from local cows, and a great variety including bread, cereals, fruits, and eggs. The hosts are a lovely older couple who were always responsive and helpful. The location is perfect for hikers, with Blausee just a 30-minute bus ride away and trails like the Oeschinensee hike and Via Ferrata starting nearby. Excellent value for money with breakfast included.

Wi-Fi reception in my dorm room was very poor — I had to go to the restaurant area to get a connection (though it was super fast there). The dorm has no proper ventilation; the only option is opening a window that faces a walkway where people pass by. The wooden construction means you can hear people walking around, which may disturb light sleepers.

Very friendly service! It was an awesome deal and provided a great breakfast. Beautiful location, close to the coop and main trailheads.

In 5 minutes you’re in the center of Kandersteg. Private parking for free.

The rooms are bit outdated and have neither air conditioning nor a fan. During the hot weather, we were given a room on the top floor under the roof, and since we were traveling with our dog, the heat inside was for us and him really bad. This is a major drawback, especially during the summer months.
