Lovely room, comfy beds, very clean, nice toiletries, delicious breakfasts and the owners were obliging and friendly.

Excellent location, well-appointed room, and comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. We were allowed to check-in an hour early on Friday afternoon.

Ian, one of the hosts, was hyper-focused on the fact that I hadn't filled out some simple paperwork prior to arrival. He had sent a link via Booking.com, which unfortunately didn't work during my multiple attempts to complete it prior to our arrival in the UK. This paperwork in-person on a sheet of paper took all of 30 seconds to complete. The room had already been paid for, so I was unsure what the issue was. It was a bit confusing when we went up to locate our room, as it was behind a fire door that had only a "private" sign visible through its window. There was no sign visible at the top of the stairs to indicate what rooms were behind the door. I recommend that the owners add a sign to assist guests and reduce confusion. Ian was also put out at our early departure Sunday morning. We checked out at 6:45am to catch an 8am train back to London. However, there was no safe place to leave the only room key we were assigned, and a very clear posted sign required keys to be handed in. I did not feel comfortable leaving the key unprotected out on a table in the foyer. I recommend the hosts provide a small locked box with a slot to deposit keys for guests leaving before the hosts awaken.
