Truly excellent dinner at a remarkably reasonable price. Friendly and helpful staff who tried hard to resolve a problem and worked heroically to run the hotel, bar and restaurant. Plenty of parking spaces. Breakfast was good too.
There was no hot water or heating in my room when I arrived, which was not welcome after being out walking in the cold. It did not come on until after 7pm, despite repeated attempts to get it working by the staff.
If you want a quiet room, ask for one at the back. Room 3 is directly above the bar.

Staff very nice, room was comfortable and very clean.
A quieter room.

Lovely evening meal and nice tidy little bedroom.
In room 9 the window wouldn’t stay open and so it was so warm all night, and a double bed for me is small so I did hang out of the end.
Breakfast wasn’t fantastic but enough to get me through the day. Saying that, I had poached eggs and they were ok, but just ok.
I was there for a funeral so may have been feeling a little low in the morning.

Nicely appointed room, very quiet (we were in number 10 which was nicely out of the way), good hospitality tray with quality products, good internet and ample free parking. Had nice evening meal and cooked breakfast was good too. Service was very efficient and friendly.
Could have done with some bottled water in the room, we had our own anyway. Cooked breakfast was good but not much else on offer just basic cereal and toast.

This is a classic pub inn with good parking considering location in the center of the village. The second room I was moved to was of a good size but the headboards pvc leather is peeling and needs changing. The pub itself is good and the food was amazing when I went for dinner.
This place was almost perfect but there are a lot of little things that let it down. Before I even arrived I was shocked when I put in the address and the location was st bees and not Whiteheaven. Yes the address says st bees but I don't know the area and just used booking.com map which showed it in whiteheaven. When I first arrived I waited for about 10 mins at the bar because the lady behind the bar was replying to emails on her laptop and could not hear me say exuse me. This continued a trend I found throughout the stay of staff being on the not bothering side and the custmor service could do with improvments. They always helped but felt like they didn't want to. Then it comes to the room itself; my first room was tiny it just fitted the double bed there was no where to put my suitcase and it was directly above the front door and bar and even at 3pm was very loud. Ironically, I was lucky and the toilet was not screwed into the floor and so they moved me. The second room was a good size for a hotel with plenty of space. It was then let down when I went to bed and found a massive blood stain on the duvet. I had to go back down stairs to a busy bar and given the key to my old room to get that duvet to replace mine (although the women was by herself on the bar and to be fair had no time to help with hotel guest). The breakfast was good (although would be better with hashbrowns) the breakfast times are very short and not great if your their on hoilday and want a lie in as you have to go before 9am. I think adding 30/60mins to the breakfast would be a nice thing to do for guest that aren't their for bussiness and want a relaxing morning (even if this is a request you need to make). Lastly, to finsh of what was a frustrating stay when I tired to cheack out their was no one around to give my key to. waited for about 10 mins but gave up and placed the keys on the bar and left. It was also at 10:30 and not 11 as stated on the listing when I booked.

Good facilities in the room, speciality coffee and tea was a nice surprise. Good wi-fi connection, and the room was very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly
The location can be noisy when the road is busy, and the room that I stayed in was directly above the bar

Breakfast was a good choice of full English or continental style. You could select or request what you wanted. The breakfast staff are very friendly and knowledgeable to food allergies etc. They're also very knowledgeable to give advice on different locations to visit. Excellent.

The staff were helpful, the room spacious & the bed comfortable. It was good to have in-house entertainment as well as some across the road. Easy walking distance to the beach.
Room 9's wardrobe was in an odd position & difficult to access. there could have been a clothes rail in the recess by the bed. Food was average & beer prices high.

The property was super handy for the coast line and access into the outer side of the lakes. The food was good and access to beer garden and free parking at rear.
The room was quite snug and could have done with air conditioning as it was too hot at night.

Super friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to ensure we had what we needed for a great stay. We ate breakfast and dinner both days and they were excellent with accommodating allergies including gluten free (their gf fish and chips is excellent! They don’t have gf beer though). The pub is busy on weekends but closes around 11pm, there is another pub across the road which still had some loud patrons after the Manor closed but this wasn’t too bad, we had our window open because of the heat (their is no air conditioning and it was unusually warm 27C) but I think of the window was closed we wouldn’t have heard people outside. Everything was clean and comfortable. The room had coffee, tea, water and biscuits. There was space to put away clothing. When we needed help finding things like taxi or atm they were very helpful and always had time for us even when they were multitasking. The town itself has a lovely beach and the cliff walk that starts the coast to coast is a must-do. We were not there to hike specifically so we got a taxi to the quarry near the St Bees lighthouse and walked back from there to the town which was fabulous.

Good location for our visit, with free parking. Plenty of space for clothes. Lovely tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Comfy beds, we had singles lovely and quiet, we stayed on a Thursday night and the room overlooked the car park
The rooms were nice, but had uneven floors, and steps down to the ensuite, which you just had to be aware of if using the toilet in the night . The price included breakfast, which we missed as we were told it was 7.30am to 8.30am, which was earlier than we had expected.

Breakfast was good.. a venue with various cooked to order combinations. Catered for vegan and vegetarian. Also pastures and toast and cereals. Good selection
Room generally clean and sheets fresh.
Room no. 9.
There were lots of simple impracticalities in the room which could easily be fixed. There were no hooks for coats etc. Perhaps a hook on the back of a door somewhere.
there was nowhere to hang a towel in thr bathroom. This is really annoying when you are showering. There is also then nowhere to hang your wet towel. There is one tiny heated towel rail with a shower mat but not big enough for a towel. Very strange.
The very narrow shower glass is so narrow water still goes on the floor no matter how hard you try.
Also nowhere to put bedding ie extra pillows if you don't want to use them except on the floor. Could do with a suitcase stand or small unit somewhere to have a surface to put things on.
Wardrobe had a big hole in the wall which is stuffed with something. This should be fixed.

Great location to start the C2C walk. Welcoming & friendly staff. Decent enough evening meal. Lovely breakfast. Room was small but adequate.
The mattress in room 6 needs changing asap. Flat as a pancake & you could feel every spring. Uncomfortable and noisy.

Clean, well presented, staff were helpful, room was lovely and welcoming, bed very comfortable with bright white crisp bedding. (The towels were probably the best I have had at any hotel) Everything looked brand new and well looked after. Breakfast was lovely, cooked to order with
plentyful toast, fruit, cerial, yogurts, etc. The special touch of a welcome card from Jackie who services the room was well received.

Great location and the room was large, spacious and clean.
The shower. Actually complained about it upon leaving. Cycled between boiling hot and ice cold, had to jump in while it was going between the 2 extremes. Would of been a 10 if not for the demon shower. 🚿
