Elida Lodge Monteverde

Wildlife , hammocks, walking trail, very good breakfast. Spent a lot of time helping me arrange reservations and guides and transportation to parks and attractions.

First night room was not totally clean. 1 stained bedspread, some dirt on floor, only had one key to room for me and my friend to share which was difficult.

Basic but nice historic motel/lodge on the edge of Monteverde. Kids loved the big grass space in the centre of the lodges.

Rooms need an update but fine for the price.

This place is amazing. The location is fantastic for seeing animals and birds. We paid to go in the nearby ark and only saw caterpillars and small birds, but we saw so much more wildlife just sitting in the hammock here. We saw armadillo, plenty of capuchin monkeys, as well as the coati that seemed to live nearby. Best of all, there is a walk through the forest within the sure and we saw at very close quarters a 2 metre long boa constrictor. The place is amazing. Staff are lovely and so helpful, breakfast is fab and sets you up for the day. There is lots of room in the grounds and hammocks to chill in.

The location was very good being close to the cloud forest and to town. The property was nicely kept with landscaping.

The shower in the room did not reasonably have enough warm water and water pressure. It was mostly room temperature. This seems due to the room next door also using their shower and sink. The room’s door’s hinges were on the outside of the room. Not the inside. This seems like a basic security mistake. Given the overall safeness of the area it wasn’t that big of a deal just odd. The breakfast was very disappointing. Tang (that’s right Tang from way back when) was served instead of actual juice, the coffee was low quality, the bacon/ham/sausage was also low quality. My kids wouldn’t eat it.
