Casa Por Fin

A bit isolated from the village, but what a view on the valley !!! Just amazing 🤩!!! The large windows provide a constant connection with the surrounding nature. Well equipped kitchen, nice bedrooms, clean bathrooms … top ! From the hammock we saw numerous different birds and during the short walk in “the forrest / garden” we saw a green snake 😀. Fantastic 3 day stay in Monteverde close by to everything, still remote and quiet to enjoy the evenings (4x4 recommended to get there)

This is a charming and beautiful cabin that feels like it's at the end of the world. It's clean, comfortable, and has exceptional views. We had some issues getting in upon arrival (the incorrect door code was sent), but the host sent someone over within minutes to assist us which was lovely considering how remote it is - like magic! You won't have daily housekeeping but there is laundry on-site which we needed and loved, and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking (you won't want to be making multiple trips up and down the mountain road in this house). We stopped at the supermarket in town and cooked breakfast each morning which was lovely to enjoy with the view. Kids loved having their own room.

Don't expect luxury hotel amenities here - it's fairly rustic. The living room could do with a furniture re-do...a sectional couch that our family could watch movies on together would have been lovely. The tiny love seat which pulls out into a bed is super uncomfortable for sleeping (jutting metal parts), and would benefit from an extra comforter. Rocking chairs are pretty but aren't comfortable for long term lounging. This is nit-picking, though...if we came back to Monteverde, we would stay here again. Oh, and make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle...the road to get there is challenging at best!

Positiv hervorzuheben ist die außergewöhnliche Holzarchitektur des Hauses. Riesige Glasfenster im Wohnzimmer lenken den Blick auf ein Bergpanorama mit Dschungel, der sich rings um das Haus erstreckt. Das Haus liegt isoliert, der nächste Nachbar ca. 200m entfernt. Vor dem Haus schreitet man von der Terrasse hinunter zu einem Grillplatz mit Bank und genießt auch von dort den weiten Blick. Um das Haus herum führt ein vom Besitzer angelegter "Sendero" (Dschungelpfad). Waschmaschine und Trockner sind vorhanden, die Küchenausstattung ist vollständig bis auf eine Mikrowelle. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und man schläft in der Höhenluft (ca. 1600m) hervorragend.

Hier ist einzig zu erwähnen, dass die Informationen zur Anreise unzureichend waren. Sie finden dieses mitten im Bergdschungel und nur über Schotterpisten erreichbare Haus nicht ohne ein Navigationsgerät und einen individuell dafür erstellen Link (Route). Es sei denn man gibt Ihnen eine äußerst detaillierte Textbeschreibung, die uns leider auch nicht vorlag. So irrten wir ca. 1h herum und wählten schließlich die Telefonnummer. Dann erstellte man für uns einen Waze-Link (Waze ist die in Costa Rica meist genutzte Navigations-App) und sendete diesen via Booking-Com.

It was secluded, at the end of a dirt road, backed up to a large drop off with a river below it. The view was absolutely beautiful, the sunsets were perfect. The washer and dryer was essential and very much appreciated! The bedrooms are on the opposite end of the house from each other was great as well.

Just a tip, bring EVERYTHING (food wise) you need to cook with, even oil and salt & pepper. All utensils & pots and pans are great!
