Quinta das Almas

Nice house, nice view, you get a breakfast basket with homemade product and eggs from the farm. Miguel is a nice guy that sometimes gives you sobremesas.

If you don’t like animals this might not be your place. The donkeys will ask for food in the morning as well as the turkeys, peacocks and the hens! If you are sensitive to light early in the morning it’s not possible to completely darken the bedroom.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Zudem war sie hübsch eingerichtet und sowohl Couch und Bett waren sehr bequem. Die Tiere und Pflanzen der kleinen Farm sorgten für ein sehr angenehmes und erholsames Ambiente. Der Host war sehr freundlich und hat uns einiges über die Geschichte der Lava-Tubes und sonstigen Geologie der Insel beigebracht.

The most "above and beyond" stay that anybody could ever ask for. Miguel as a host is absolutely superb, devoting time to show us his farm and animals, talk with us and share his knowledge and information, and show us local sights (including an incredible lava tube right on the property). The welcome basket with farm-fresh eggs, fruit etc. was an absolute treat. The apartment itself is meticulous in its design and cleanliness, with wonderful views of the farm and the ocean. If you want a true local stay, Quinta das Almas is the absolute perfect destination to immerse yourself on Pico island.

I would love to be able to share constructive feedback on what could be improved - but after 5 minutes of thinking I cannot think of a single negative from our stay.

Quinta das Almas is truly an extraordinary place. The house is beautiful, bright, and offers a stunning view of the sea and the neighboring island of São Jorge. From the garden, you can see Mount Pico, and it’s surrounded by many interesting plants and countless animals, such as donkeys, chickens, peacocks, turkeys, ducks, cats, and wild animals. The apartment is well-furnished, and I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. A highlight was visiting the lava tube located in Miguel’s garden. All in all, Quinta das Almas is an outstanding place to stay. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
