It does the job for a brief stay.

Excellent location, within a few mins walk from Birmingham new street station. It was literally adjacent to the conference centre I was visiting, which was very convenient. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well. The shower was excellent - great power and temperature.

This is a fair place to stay if you’re only staying for 1-2 nights - it does the job. The rooms are old and in need of renovation. I asked for a quiet room but I could hear the drum and bass from the next door room in the morning (thankfully I was up already). There were also some issues regarding communication - I booked a 2 night stay but my travel got postponed. Despite giving advance warning (in writing and a telephone call), I was informed by the front desk that the hotel had cancelled my reservation. Thankfully this was readily rectified.

In the downtown, easily accessible, friendly staff, clean and properly equipped.

Very rich breakfast, pleasant environment. It is advisable not to go during rush hours, although the staff managed these situations very well.

Overall, the stay met our expectations. Our windows faced a busy street. Even in the evening and later, traffic could be heard, although the noise was somehow acceptable.

I won’t be staying again

Great location

No EV charging Took 40 minutes to check out. They added extra charges to the room. Initially gave us another rooms bill. Eventually found our bill and they then tried to add a room service charge for a bottle of wine we had with dinner in the restaurant.

Breakfast was great, nice and hot. Location was perfect for the hipppdrome and restaurants. Rooms were spacious and clean.

I had a really lumpy pillow that has given my neck and back a bit of stiffness. I didn’t realise it was a problem until the morning.

Holiday Inn IHG, Birmingham City Centre

The location was perfect for the Birmingham Hippodrome being only a few minutes walk from the theatre. We had three rooms, the twins were a generous size with big TV's. The double was smaller. The breakfast had everything you wanted and a lot of variety between continental and full English.

The heating in the double room didnt work and so we were given a heater to use. The bathroom in one of the twin rooms had an unpleasant smell. However, these issues would not stop me staying here again.

Disappointing staff experience at an otherwise great value hotel.

Location, decent room.

Really poor experience with the staff. Had staff randomly knocking at the room on 2 occasions when no requests had been made, one time was very early in the morning. Parked in the NCP adjacent to the hotel and asked for confirmation that this was correct at check in. The member of staff assured me the car was in the correct location however at check out I was informed it was the wrong car park for the hotel. This added an additional £23 to our parking charge (£37 in total) and the team at reception made virtually no effort whatsoever to help address their mistake from the day earlier.

The location was fabulous for city centre attractions. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a good choice at the buffet breakfast.

The manager of the breakfast staff! It was very disorganised. No one seemed to have a responsibility for one (or two) things but everyone did a bit of everything which let things be overlooked. For example both coffee machines needed attention on our first morning and I had to chase down a member of staff to empty the grounds so they would work again. On the second morning they had run out of plates for the hot food so again I needed to find someone. I appreciate they were busy but there were plenty of staff and if it was someone's responsibility it would have been picked up.

Clean, tidy and central.

The lobby area is lovely, the rooms are huge and clean, the bed was delicious.

There was no loo brush in the toilet. The charcuterie and cheeseboard I ordered had loads of lovely cheese but only two pieces of bread which meant a lot of cheese went to waste. It would help if there were some crackers to spread the cheese out on. The car park cards did not scan and permit entrance to the car park. I had to pay two nights as I was just over 12 hours. I would have preferred to pay the extra at the NCP rate than pay for a whole second night but I was told this was not an option.

Great overnight stay

Excellent hotel in a great location. Enjoyed the breakfast. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We used the NCP New Street car park which the hotel guests can use for a discounted price.

Nit a great experience

The food was good, the staff were supportive kind and lovely. Kenny and the front desk staff were amazing.

The first room was ok but once I inspected the room it was not fully cleaned. Floor had stains and burn stains, cutains had stains. No heating it was freezing in the room but however they gave me 2 heaters to keep the room warm. Once I checked the sheets there were dried blood spots on the inside of the sheets. I asked to be moved. The second room once I was settled, the shower was extremely small I could barely move in there. There was no fridge, nothing to clean my toilet. When I asked for clean towels before I left for the hotel. When I came back I checked the towels they gave a a towel with dried blood stains on. This was a 4* hotel but giving 2*. The staff are lovely and supportive but the rooms in itself were not of a high ir decent standard. And the towels... not a good stay i was stressed mostly there. Never again.

For me the Location was important and enjoyed the breakfast the following day.

Rooms and corridors a bit tired. The towel rail in the room didnt work which was a shame as and the heating system seemed to have a mind of its own.

The bed and room were small compared to the advertised size. There wasn't enough milk for tea and coffee so I had to heavily ration it. The shower curtain was stinking and very smelly.

I struggle with bathrooms and the cleanliness a typical clean bathroom still freaks me out so it needs to be exceptionally clean with not a single bit of damp mould or stains anywhere and I can say the bathroom was good and I was able to shower.

When we arrived, it took some time to check in and they couldn’t find our booking. He was asking for the confirmation email which I provided but it’s still took ages to find it on the system. We was approached by security one night and was questioned on whether or not we have a room, what number are room was and our name. Thought this was very strange and made me feel uncomfortable. Air conditioning did not work a fan was not provided and there is no radiators in the room so you was either too hot or too cold.
