Well located budget accommodation

It’s an odd property, as you rather feel like you’re entering a lecture centre or similar! But, once you’re in and you climb the stairs to the top floor the feeling changes, a bit rough round the edges, but my room was very well appointed, everything you would expect from a hotel room, with the added bonus of a microwave and fridge which was a nice touch. Overall the cleanliness was good and value for money considering the amount we paid, but honestly, I wouldn’t pay any more for what I got. As I was going to a show at the Birmingham Hippodrome the location couldn’t have been better too.

Close to Hippodrome, Train station and many choices for having a good meal

Clean, tidy and comfortable bed

The property was reasonably close to the city centre and the owner was kind to allow me a late check out at no extra cost. For a short and affordable stay, it was okay overall

The room was quite basic and a little dated, and cleanliness could have been better. I found a used razor on the bathroom floor and there was no hairdryer. The area was also quite noisy in the evening and I personally did not feel completely comfortable walking around the neighbourhood at night. There was also some confusion about my late check out, as the cleaner had not been informed and entered the room in the morning while I was still there. She was very apologetic once I explained the situation, so it seemed to be simply a communication issue.
