Charming and spacious property in a lovely/convenient position.

The Lodge is very well appointed (inside and out), and the immediate location is both picturesque and close to local amenities. It also benefits from a position that is close to the famous Mourne Mountains, yet it is also within easy reach of Hillsborough, Lisburn, Belfast and many, many attractions. The eggs provided by the host were a nice touch, and went well with a Soda Farl. The Lodge is spacious and that makes it perfect for relaxing after a busy day out.

Peaceful rural retreat

This is a stunning location for a peaceful retreat. The views from the property itself are wonderful. The property is cosy, without being small, and felt like a home from home.

I think that everybody who visited the property overshot the entrance as it's hidden behind the gateway to another house. It might help to have a sign on the road pointing to the entrance :)

Great location, great property. The owner was vert responsive to our requests given that we booked very last minute to deal with a family death from Australia. We were left to privacy in the property and found it very comforting. Very warm and cozy in the winter with the fire etc. Highly recommend

A lovely cottage - highly recommended !

This is the perfect house / nicely renovated with a mix of old & new situated on a hill with great views. Hillsborough is a lovely town about 15 KMs away - possibly Ireland's nicest small town with great buildings, the castle, the fort, the forest & what looked like very nice restaurants & pubs - well worth a day-trip & you could fill a day.

So comfortable and spacious in an idyllic location. Very well-equipped and Esther is a thoughtful and caring hostess. Great base to explore the marvellous scenic countryside in County Down.

Mother's Birthday Weekend.

The location is peaceful ,quiet, relaxing & has fantastic views, but still close to local villages & towns. Hillsborough with local restaurants & craft shops is only 15minutes away. Newcastle Banbridge & Mountains of Mourne are only a 30min drive away. Scion is beautifully decorated it is comfortable cosy homely & has all facilites you need. This is the second time i have stayed at Scion & this time i brought my mum to celebrate her Birthday. We were blessed with warm sunny weather & the views from Scion are so beautiful. It is the ideal relaxing weekend. Esther is lovely helpful & always easy to contact. We also visited Rowallane Gardens as they too are only a short drive away.
