A fine place for a short stay.

Perfect for an overnight stay on our journey through France. It is an independent double room with en-suite shower room and toilet and a small patio located at the far end of the host's garden. You park on the driveway, it is very secure with the gated entrance operated by a digicode. The facilities are modern and very clean and there is an air conditioning unit in the room which would be very useful in hot weather but we didn't need to use it . Also useful is the small fridge to store milk and breakfast essentials you will have to bring or buy for your stay. I felt the room was comfortable and fine for a night or two but it is on the small side and I found the mattress too firm. The centre of Chartres is 5 minutes away by car, about 30 min on foot using the dedicated footpath. We drove into Chartres for dinner as it was raining the evening we arrived and parking in town is free after 6.00pm

Finding the place first time was a bit tricky as it is in a modern estate with all the streets built in a one way system. If you turn into the wrong street you have to go round again the whole way! Definitely need to rely on your (updated) satnav! Despite good instructions we got a bit confused with the entry keypads. You press a button on the small gate first but the key is situated in a key box on the big gate and you use the code on that keypad! Same key operates both the gate and the room door. Luckily the host was at home and came out to the rescue !

The room and the bathroom were very nice.

No meet and greet so we felt strange going into the property alone. For a property with no food available there was little food preparation area.The aircon unit had no remote control so was of little use.

Good stop for 1 or 2 nights

This is the perfect location for a short stay if you're traveling by car and whether you're just passing by or hoping to visit Chartres for a couple of days. It's simple but well maintained and has all the comforts you need. The location definitely requires a car, but other than that it's secure and not too far from the city.

Google Maps does not have the exact location, if you arrive at night it might take you a couple of tries before you find the right gate.

A fine breakfast outside. A nice room, nice hosts, nice location a 20 minute walk from town. A nice park and river along the way as well as old aqueduct.

A bit of home while on holiday

Hosts Alfred and Christine have created a wonderful, cosy home for their guests. We were warmly welcomed by them at arrival. The place is modern decorated and well equipped. We arrived during a heatwave but fortunately there was airconditioning to keep the room cool. In the morning we were served a nice breakfast on the terrace.

Stanza decisamente molto piccola, la doccia con la tenda non é mai comoda. Cattivo odore. Il telecomando per l’effetto delle luci non funzionante. Letto piccolo a dimensione francese.

Maisonnette agréable et fonctionnelle. Lit confortable.

La maisonnette sentait le renfermé. Les serviettes de bain sentaient la cuisine. Obligée d'ouvrir en grand et de mettre du désodorisant. L'accueil par téléphone. J'ai dû attendre pour qu'on me donne les clefs alors que je venais de faire plus de 4h de route. Du coup c'était décevant. Cependant la propriétaire au téléphone s'est excusée.
