Gardiner House Hostel

it is at a very good location has a private car park with limited spaces but if you pre-book you might be lucky and at a very reasonable price the room looked very nice and clean toilets and showers newly renovated very nice and the pods looked good as well.for privacy with lights and sockets inside your pod

there was a few things.the pods are quite short for a person who is 190 cm tall. I couldn’t stretch out my legs so I only could sleep with legs bent.communication.while the hostel tries to be very helpful and provide you as much information around the area as possible any messages you sent them seem to get lost in the number of messages they sent you.I requested a bottom bunk both as part of my booking and I sent a separate message after the booking and yet not only was I not given a bottom bunk I was given a top of a 3 story bunkbed.the bed shakes with everyone underneath me getting on and off the bed quite badly.

Good value and location, lovely staff and a decent breakfast especially for a hostel.

Mattress and pillows not very comfy but not awful. Building/room far too warm for sleeping and with the pod only having a small weak fan it couldnt counteract the heat. When you have a large room with 20 ish pods full of people the body heat alone requires aircon nevermind the warm weather ontop. It would also be in the hostels interest to keep the rooms cold for sleeping as it would avoid damp/sweat issues in the bedding/mattresses.

Amazing price for quality, convivial enviromment, lots of different places to chill for hours, big dining room next to kitchen to eat read or work. Extremely clean, mixed or single sex toilets/showers.

I didn't make it in time to book into all.girls dorm but met a friendly guy in my dorm.

I like they had beds that are fully covered - privacy.

The doors in the big rooms are grinding when opening. It very uncomfortable especially during the night. There are 28 beds and many people walk around the room during the night. So consider its very busy and it could be an isssue for someone who has light sleep. So please grease the door hinges to make it more comfortable for travellers. Also the cleanliness of the pods needs some improvement. My bed had some hairs and it was not clean at all. There was a layer of dust.
