All in all good for a one or two night stay. Was in a room of 4 and it was good. Beds where comfy.

I booked this hostel, because it seemed to be the only one with privacy in the dorms (curtains) that I could find. And it ended up being the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on lol!!! AND private. And so clean. ALSO the breakfast was so cute and wholesome and nostalgic!

It got really hot at night, but it's because one of the girls in the room closed all the windows. So we all woke up with an insane amount of condensation on the windows, and a hot & stuffy room

The property is in a great area that is super walkable to lots of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops as well as all the touristy stuff if you’re looking to do that as well.

The breakfast was awesome as usual.

On 3rd floor we had both toilet n bathroom locked for the days we were there,this was real toucher, How long can it take you to repair a bathroom and toilet? How did u expect us to walk down to other floors at night coming from sleep? This should never happen to any guest. There's one lady who was on shift on 27th September in the morning, that one should be retrained on customer care, pathetic to work at the reception, I experienced her mean behavior in 2024 too. Basil was the most warm and helpful receptionist,she helped me extend my stay by 1 day when the mean lady had said not possible Fillipe is my number 1 support staff,the best ever,recieve some love Fillipe,thank you for making our stay comfortable, ever smiling Fillipe,thank you so much. Garden Lane should strive to sustain their good ratings

If you are a married couple do not stay in this hostel

Our welcome was not very friendly and the room was very small. Avoid taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel because they will overcharge you. The location was handy to the city centre and we enjoyed Temple Bar area, The Christ Church pub, Molly's Bar 101 Francis St, The Liberties and visiting the Dublinia with the 11am free tour.

My wife and I booked 6 months in advance and could not find anything below 150. Next time we will know to pay over 150 for a nicer hotel room with bathroom. Of course Dublin city centre is expensive however we should have paid 150-200 to ensure we have a nice room, bed, bathroom and cooked breakfast.

I really liked the balcony so nice to sit and enjoy my takeaway meals and dinner! the breakfast was good, apples and bananas and cereal and toast. The lift was great for people with luggage!

Do NOT stay here

The staff was friendly

Do NOT stay here. I never leave reviews, but this experience was on another level. I’ve never felt so unsafe in a place I paid to stay at, the area felt sketchy from the moment I arrived. On the first night, I found a spider on my bed. On the second night, things got even worse, I was forced to share a bunk bed with a drunk stranger who stumbled in at 3 AM. I couldn’t sleep at all after that. Between the loud snoring, him falling off the bed at 5 AM, and the overwhelming smell of alcohol, it was impossible to rest. The bunk beds are awful every tiny movement shakes the whole thing, and you can hear everything. To top it all off, the bathroom was dirty and clearly not cleaned regularly. I genuinely regret staying here. Avoid at all costs.

A really lovely atmosphere. Home from home! Excellent facilities, clean, spacious and well equipped. A good breakfast. Lovely to have books and games in the 'common room'. Good under-bed storage. Excellent and friendly staff and information about Dublin, maps, trips etc. available at reception.

Squeaky and feels old

The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Tesco was close.

Somewhat a dodge location... Some beggars were throwing stuff behind me as I was walking back to the hostel from Tesco. The elevator and stair hallway were smelling like garbage chute. Feels old

Basic

The hostel was avarage compared to price, but as we booked for just one night, it was OK. Breakfast was basic, incl. toasts, jam, peanut butter, instant coffee, fruits.

The beds were assigned by the hotel. One out of two assigned beds was completely messed-up (see the photo). Not sure if it was cleaned at all. We arrived after reception was closed so there was no way to change the situation.

A good place to stay in the Dublin city center on a budget

That is a nice hostel - there`s plenty of space in the common area and it has a kitchen and an outdoor terrace on the last floor. The staff were really helpful and friendly. In the morning a nice and tasty breakfatst is served in the common area. You can park your car for 12 euros extra which was a lifesaver since you can`t park outside on the street. Though it is better to request a space with your reservation. The location is wonderful - the hostel is located right in the city center.

All of us got the top beds. It wasn`t an issue for us but if you require the bottom bed you have to request it in advance.

The hostel felt safe and the staff were welcoming. The kitchen upstairs looked really nice and had a good set up for longer term travellers.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean but not very modern. There isn't really enough bathrooms or showers per floor, and some of the showers/ toilets were broken. Also this might just be personal, but the bunk beds didn't have guardrails and I thought I was going to fall off!

From the moment I arrived I felt comfortable. The lady at reception was so warm, welcoming and informative. The property was clean and fresh. The room was very well laid out. The beds were comfortable and even had a curtain for privacy. The roof top kitchen and lounge were delightful. I would very happily recommend this hostel in preference to many others I have stayed in in Dublin.

Very quiet for a hostel and clean. Quite comfortable.

The hostel is somehow away from noisy areas, so it is quiet. The shared bathroom was clean, the same goes for the room. I only stayed there for one night. Nothing special, but it is a good choise for a short period, I might choose it again, preferably not in a busy weekend.

The fitted sheet at the bed and the somehow difficult ladder for the upper beds. Difficult to climb if not small and fit. A bit expensive for just one bunk bed in the weekend (completely different price during weekdays!). Just one (at the time of my visit) operating shower per floor, for 4-5 rooms, but it was not crowded anyway.

The location was convenient, with easy access to public transport and nearby amenities. Beds were clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the surrounding area was reasonably quiet.

The property lacked atmosphere, with few activities or social events to create any real sense of community. While some staff members were pleasant, others came across as indifferent or unwelcoming. Facilities were in need of a thorough deep clean, and both furniture and décor felt noticeably outdated. Overall, the experience did not justify the price point given the quality and range of amenities offered.

A bit disappointed

It was clean, and had a very nice kitchen/lounge area. Staff were very nice.

Only 2 toilets on the floor I stayed and both toilet seats were broken (not attached and would slide off) for the entire time I was there (5 days). Also, while comfortable, the mattresses on the lower bunks were too high to sit up fully in the bed and made it difficult to get in and out without head hurts.

Beds and rooms were super clean and spacious. Really nice shared areas, with a good breakfast for being included in the price 😊 I like the view from the terrace 😍

The location is downtown but not in the main streets, you need to walk through alleys which didn't feel safe as a woman and a solo traveler.

Most unhappy hostel I have ever stayed in. Everyone seemed pissed all the time

hot, wifi didn't work until I asked them to restart router (pain), no staff after 6 pm so no help with anything after that time so had to go without internet until next evening, bathrooms left a lot to be desired and men used the women's bathroom regularly and consistently left the toilet seat up (ugh), very tiny room and couldn't access your cage easily without blocking literally everyone in the room.
