Garden Village Bled

I have traveled to 26 countries and this is one of the most exceptional experiences I have ever had. It was beautiful and the epitome of absolute tranquility. The natural pool, the massage waterfall, the staff, the location, the breakfast. Truly extraordinary.

Nothing I didn't like.

Absolutely magical! I stayed in a pier tent, and it was INCREDIBLE. Sleeping with the sound of the river rapids was top tier. Very peaceful. Amazing breakfast. Great staff.

The property overall is listed as having AC, but the pier (2 person) tents at least did not. I discovered this when I arrived in a heat wave and was quite worried as an American who loves my AC. However, it was no problem. Even in a historic heat wave in July (high of 92), it cools to <70 once the sun goes down. The stream also cools the tents close to it. So it was no problem. If someone came up to me and offered me a stay at a the nicest luxury resort on Bles for the same price with ac I would’ve had no interest. The pier tents were small though. I’m an American and travel heavy. Two Americans traveling heavy might want to upgrade to a bigger tent (but would be further from stream, a major downside imo). For me, it was no problem. I kept everything on the patio, including luggage and all my stuff in the provided massive locked trunk on the patio.

What a gem of a place - so glad that we found this and decided to push the budget a little for a couple of nights. Staff were all exceptionally kind and welcoming. The set-up was awesome. We elected to stay in the lower cost Pier Tents which had communal toilet and shower facilities (as you might expect on a standard campsite) but they were clean, well appointed and spacious with plenty of hot water - no having to keep pushing a button on a shower wall. The pool was brilliant - clean fresh water for swimming in but not a shiny tiled over-chlorinated hotel pool. Small, some would probably say cold, but ideal for my wife who enjoys wild swimming, and the little reed area immediately beside the pool meant the pool had the odd bit of wildlife to share it with you - a couple of tadpoles, the odd duck, the frogs never seemed to venture in though - they stayed close to the reeds and we only really spotted them during breakfasts - it felt like swimming in nature! The 'alternative' pool (i.e. the section of stream / river that the pier tents were located beside) was pretty chilly, but great fun for a quick 'dook' to cool off (though water shoes are sensible for grip and a bit of protection from the stoney river bed). The tent itself was comfortable and well appointed with a reasonable sized lockbox outside for luggage, electric lamps on either side of the double bed for reading at night, a digital safe and a fridge in the small awning area - big enough for keeping a bottle of wine or a Bled Cake cool. We were there in June so not the height of summer and had a full-on thunder storm and heavy rain so we did turn on the small fan heater for a couple of blasts to warm the tent a little.

NOTE - THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF WHAT WE LIKED - NOT ENOUGH SPACE AVAILABLE TO LIST IT ALL ABOVE!! Keeping the rest of it brief - free bikes and helmets to borrow with locks for going out and about. 5 minutes walk from Lake Bled. Awesome fire-pit area with comfy seats and blankets to chill after dark. WHAT DIDN'T WE LIKE? Scraping the bottom of the barrel here to find any fault. 2 minor things: First, sleeping comfort - our tent had a double bed but with two single duvets. As a 6'5" diagonal sleeper, this isn't ideal for me - I would have preferred a double duvet. Pillows were a bit skinny too, but I'm sure if we had asked we would have been given a second pillow. Second - there isn't a huge amount of space around the tent, so if you were staying more than a couple of days, dipping in and out of the lockbox to get things from luggage could get a little frustrating, but I'm sure the same problems wouldn't be encountered in the bigger tents or treehouses.

Amazing concept , right by the river.

Terrible service in the restaurant . Within 2 days we could not even get a table while half of the tables were available. One we finally managed to have a table there was an old dirty paper with the menu and we had to leave. No even apologies. Tents by the river are amazing and I’m sure owners put great idea into this place but I don’t think staff cares much. The glamor tent was disappointing with dirty Hottub with dead insects, leaves, cold water. Everything is about eco but the tent had cheap plastic floors.
