I wouldn’t say that I dislike anything about the property at all. I would say that the food potentially could be a little more innovative.

To be honest, there was very little that I enjoyed about this property. The facilities, the room, the atmosphere, and the overall experience did not meet my expectations. The only aspect I genuinely appreciated was the complimentary photo shoot offered by the hotel, which included two professionally edited photos. This was a thoughtful gesture and one of the few positive memories we took away from our stay.

What disappointed me the most was the gap between the hotel’s five-star positioning and the actual experience. As part of the Anantara brand, I expected a premium level of comfort and quality. Instead, I felt as though I was staying in a very old property that is clearly in need of a complete refurbishment. Many areas of the hotel appeared worn and outdated, there was a noticeable mouldy smell in several parts of the property, and the overall condition did not reflect the standards of a luxury resort. Even the toiletries provided in the room were among the poorest I have encountered in a hotel of this category. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we arrived directly from another Anantara Ubud property where the experience had been exceptional in every aspect. The contrast was striking. We went from an outstanding resort to a property that felt tired and neglected, despite costing even more. Considering the price paid, this was a real disappointment and a great shame.
