A Hidden Alpine Gem – Perfect for Hikers and Motorcyclists

I spent two unforgettable days at Hotel Mira in Sedrun, and I can’t recommend it enough – especially for hikers and motorcyclists. Nestled in the heart of the Alps, this traditional-style hotel is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, high mountain passes, and peaceful trails that invite adventure and reflection alike. As a weary traveler, I arrived tired – but quickly transformed into a delighted guest. The warm welcome, the spotless room, and the quiet Alpine charm worked their magic instantly. The hotel is impeccably maintained and perfectly clean throughout. My room was cozy, calm, and pristine – just what you need after a long day on the road or in the mountains. The breakfast deserves a special mention: generous, varied, and absolutely delicious – there’s something for everyone, whether you prefer sweet, savory, or something light. The host was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. And with a Coop supermarket just steps away, everything you might need is close at hand. Whether you’re hiking the scenic trails or riding through Switzerland’s most iconic mountain routes, Hotel Mira is the perfect place to rest, recharge, and feel truly welcomed. I will gladly return – this place is a rare gem.

Excellent breakfast. All fresh local produce. Short walk to Sedrun Railway station for access to ski areas and also 40 minute ride to Andermatt for Gemstock area. Restaurant evening meals superb. Interesting menu all cooked to order with fresh local produce. Mac is passionate about his restaurant and it shows!

Beautiful, quaint, good location, excellent breakfast and restaurant.

Nothing really - I failed to appreciate that you cannot drive from Sedrun to Andermatt in the winter. However the ski train is a 5 min walk from the hotel and tickets can be purchased by credit card at the Sedrun station.

Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, along with the rest of the locals I met in the town! Breakfast was a great selection.

You could hear others in hallways/other rooms easily, but that's what comes with an older building. Otherwise everything was comfortable.

Hotel easy to reach in Sedrun, with free private parking in front. The room was very clean with a balcony and a nice view of the mountains. Small bathroom. Wi-fi and TV in the room worked properly. Good breakfast (sweet and savory).

Hotel für Kurzaufenthalt ok, Restaurant empfehlenswert

Das Hotel war für zwei Nächte in Ordnung, es ist aber schon etwas bejahrt. Eine "Zellenauffrischung" täte dem Haus gut. Das Frühstück war ok, allerdings hatte ich den Eindruck, dass das Brot nicht frisch sondern aufgebacken war und bei der Charcuterie eher die günstigsten Fleischsorten angeboten wurden. Das Abendessen war aber sehr gut. Ich habe zweimal wirklich gut gegessen. Geschätzt habe ich, dass man kostenlos direkt vor dem Haus parkieren kann. Schön war auch, dass das Zimmer einen Balkon mit Blumenkistli hat und diese zum Nationalfeiertag mit Schweizer Fähnchen geschmückt waren, leider war das Wetter aber nicht so gut und zu kühl und nass für dessen Nutzung, allerdings war die Balkontüre irgendwie verknorxt, sie liess sich nicht richtig schliessen.

Das Bett war ok, allerdings empfand ich die Matratze als uneben und wohl etwas verbraucht. Auch hätte ich mir ein besseres Kissen und eine wärmere Decke gewünscht. Morgens und abends wurde kurz etwas geheizt, danke dafür. Bett und Inhalt sind ja das "A und O" einer Unterkunft, da würde sich eine Investition lohnen. Die Balkontüre liess sich wie erwähnt nicht richtig schliessen, im Fernseher war kein "gängiges" Programm zu empfangen, weder SRF noch ARD, ZDF oder ORF, am Fernseher war ein Kleber SRF defekt; dann flickt man es! Das Badezimmer empfand ich als einen Ort, wo man rasch wieder raus will, es war etwas eng und ich habe auch nichts von einer Lüftung gespürt. Auch sind Hotels mit Duschvorhängen nicht mehr unbedingt angesagt. Für meinen Geschmack war das Treppenhaus überfüllt und ich wusste schon bei der Ankunft, dass dies wohl nicht mein Stammhaus im Tujetsch werden würde.

Perfekt läge för vandringar och mycket bra service.

Mycket vänlig personal. Bra frukosta med stort urval. Läckra måltider på hotellets restaurang. Fin utsikt från den stora balkongen. Även om hotellet var intill huvudgatan, så störde inte trafikbullret, eftersom gatan hade lite trafik. Nära till järnvägsstationen och linbanan. Rummet var stort. Väldigt lugnt och fridfullt.

Badrummet var trångt och i behov av renovering.
