A wee hime from home

Fabulous cottage in a perfect spot for exploring the area and for local cafes, pubs and distilleries. Spotlessly clean and with everything we needed. Nice wee touches including biscuits, milk, tea and coffee. Loved our stay.

We had a great time at Mortlach Cottage. There was no need to worry about arrival time – the key was easily accessible from a coded lockbox. The number of rooms was just right, and the separate beds were a big plus, as we were five friends traveling for whisky tastings. The accommodation and kitchen were very well equipped – I can only recommend it.

If I had to mention one small downside, an extra toilet would have been nice. :)

Excellent stay in the hearth of Speyside.

Excellent location at the center of Dufftown. Parking in front, clean facilities.

Ceilings are a bit low so if you’re a bit taller you got to bend your head a few times.

Comfortable and cosy stay in the Scottish highlands!

The cottage is very good value for money, comfortable and equipped with everything you might need for an overnight to extended stay. Walking distance to the Glenfiddich distillery, and all local amenities.

Everything was great apart from very small details which we discussed directly with the owner.

I can certainly recommend Mortlach Cottage as a great stay in the Speyside area.

The location was excellent in terms of access to the area distilleries. Dufftown is a nice, quaint town. Very quiet. The Cottage was very nice, well decorated and clean. The bathroom was up to date and the kitchen was very well done and well stocked. The on-site laundry facilities were a great bonus!

It would have, of course, been more convenient to have the bathroom and the bedrooms on the same floor, but we managed just fine.

Great location, friendly hosts, very clean and well equipped, everything you might need. They even had parchment for cooking, which made cleanup a breeze.

Lots of space, very clean. Full kitchen, laundry living room. No contact with staff at all, other than by phone. Key is in a lockbox.

Traffic noise is right under your window, so if you're noise sensitive, not the place for you. Water pressure in the shower is pretty feeble.

location to Glenfiddich tour

The radiators were off and the house was as cold as it was outside. we got in late because of a traffic issue and the house was still so cold that we slept in our clothes, jackets, hats and gloves. by the morning it was comfortable in clothes. no blow dryer, shampoo/conditioner/ soap for shower, napkins or paper towel.

Was a Whisky Pilgrimage and the cottage was in the center of Speyside.

The location was perfect in center of Dufftown.

The shower was a bit difficult to get right. Also I would add to there are only few restaurants in the area and book up fast. Here are some of our favourites..... We suggest you book in advance The highlander inn, The Station hotel and the mash tun. We wanted to go to the Seven stills but they where closed during our stay.

Perfect home base for a Speyside whisky tour

Mortlach Cottage was absolutely perfect for 4 guys needing a home base for our Speyside whisky tour. Everything was clean and orderly, and the washer/dryer was an added (and much needed!) bonus. The location is great too—1 to 15 miles from dozens of distilleries, 3 blocks from a grocery store, 2 blocks from a very friendly local pub (The Commercial) and a typically delicious Indian restaurant (Spice of India). It goes without saying that it’s not the Ritz-Carlton, but it fit our needs perfectly. I’d recommend Mortlach Cottage to anyone visiting Speyside.

beds were not very comfortable but property itself was good,clean, and quaint

what breakfast ? also Dufftown has no real cafes and/or restaurants/ pubs open for guests except on fri-sat..the location was great however the eating options were extremely poor and people should be made aware of that fact

no where to go and have a nice drink and/or even coffee and lunch...Dufftown was basically closed the whole 5 days we were there property location was excellant to do the scotch whiskey trail and to discover distilleries

Mortlach cottage is perfectly situated in the middle of Dufftown. You are in easy walking distance to shops and bars of the town. It is much bigger than a hotel room and you have the kitchen and the living room to get together. The cottage has a very Scotish charm to it. We loved it!

Beautiful cottage, very comfy beds. The fact it was on main street of dufftown was excellent. Did not hear cars and vans going up street.
