About this house rental

The house is in a peaceful situation on the southern edge of NethyBridge , with lovely views over the surrounding hills and woods. Built in a traditional style and furnished and fitted in a tasteful contemporary manner the bright sunny rooms are comfortable and welcoming . It has an open plan living area with dining table , and kitchen , adjacent to the bright sunroom at the rear of the house where you can sometimes see deer and other wildlife . There is also a twin , and double bedroom with ensuite shower room , and a bathroom with shower on the ground floor . The utility room and games room are also on the ground floor. On the first floor are large twin and double bedrooms , and a bathrooom with shower . There is a large garden and garden furniture is provided to sit out and enjoy the scenic surroundings. It is ideal for children and there are toys and books in the house . There are views of the Cairngorm mountains and to the rear of the house is the river Nethy and beyond the beautiful Abernethy forest. There are great cycle tracks and walks minutes from the house.
Nethybridge is a charming village in a beautiful setting within the Cairngorm National Park , 12 miles north of Aviemore. It has a grocers shop, and a well stocked butchers/delicatessen . There are 2 hotels and a cafe in the village .
BBCs Winterwatch and Springwatch were recently shot at the Dell of Abernethy , 10 minutes walk from the house. . They also host occasional events and have a drinks and pizza evening once a week in their Teepee most of the year . check out thedellofabernethy.co.uk

We enjoyed sitting in the sun house watching birds on the bird feeder that we purchsed. To encourage the birds into the garden. Also had a badger come at the back of the house late at night. For some nuts and pear which was wonderful to see. We enjoyed two weeks at Nethy Bridge really liked exploring the landscape in the area. Host was good with communication. Negative feedback, better not to use any towels for customers which look old and marked. A fire place tool set would also be helpful. Views to the mountains only from the top landing windows, not from the sun house as described as the trees block the views to the mountains. Would stay again.

We stayed in Nethy Bridge with our three teen-kids, who enjoyed their private rooms in this very spacy house. Everything was clean, the kitchen is well equipped, and we loved the fireplace. Nice garden with a river directly behind, and we had a good time in the garage with table-tennis, dart and kicker-table! The location in great for exploring the Cairngorms, we would love to come back!

A very comfortable and spacious house which was ideal for our family. Well equipped and the addition of the games room was a bonus. The sun lounge and huge garden gave the feeling of being in a detached house in the countryside, but with the benefit of being in the village. The upstairs bedrooms are huge with plenty of space for quiet moments.

Can’t say enough about how fab this house is. We were 3 generations and it worked brilliantly for everyone. Loads of space, everything you need and more in the kitchen, comfy beds, as everyone else has said the garden is brilliant and I want to take the sunroom home with me. We all spent hours sitting reading in there, looking out for wildlife. Highly recommend (although don’t want too many people to know about it!) and will definitely be back. Thanks Ian!

The property is amazing, really spacious and the huge garden and games in the garage were a huge hit with the kids. Loads of walks from the door and Lochs nearby for water-sports it really is the ideal base for an active, outdoors family. The sunroom was perfect to read and recharge the batteries and the kitchen was really well equipped. Would absolutely recommend.

This wonderful cozy cottage was the perfect location for our highland adventures. Easy to find, but out of the way! The home is nicely laid out. As Americans, use appliances,outlets, etc. differently . it would have been helpful to have critical switches labeled. For example we inadvertently turned off the kitchen refrigerator by turning its switch off. This switch was located along the wall, above the counter in the same places the light switched were located.

Spacious house in a calm green area with River Nethy nearby; all necessary things can be found. Check-in without problems. On a sunny evening we enjoyed Barbecue in the garden. Good location aside of busy Aviemore to go for hikes in Cairngorm NP as well as in nearby nature resorts (for example Loch Garten). On arrival we found a couple of rubbish bags in front of the house left by another group - they were removed immediately after having informed Ian. Thanks for the relaxing stay at Nethy Bridge!

Following a beautiful week staying at this property in October we couldn’t wait to make a return visit. A superb home from home. Very comfortable and so spacious. Fantastic large garden leading to the river - we had our evening meals outside. Particularly love the garden room.

We all have been very pleasantly surprised by this property. Such a great village and situation for the Cairngorms. Big plot, excellent sized rooms and all the amenities needed to have a wonderful stay. A week really isn't long enough. Would definitely return. Very dog friendly too. Hosts are great, as are the friendly neighbours.

A lovely spacious homey house with a double bedroom, twin bedroom and bathroom on both floors so ideal for 2 families sharing. The wood burner was very cosy. The upstairs shower was slightly temperamental temperature-wise. We loved reading and chatting in the garden room and the kids were thrilled with the games garage!

First time travelling to Scotland and I think we chose the best possible home and location. The house was absolutely stunning both in size, location and ammenities. We felt right at home and the kids loved having their own rooms and the extra play equipment in the garage. The images of the garden dont do it justice and was lovely being so close to the river as well. Nethy Bridge is wonderful little village with a small Spar for essentials but otherwise perfectly located to see some of the Highlands. Inverness, Loch Ness, Aviemore and the Cairngorm Mountains all close by. We were lucky enough to have snow just after Christmas and the whole scenery was magical covered in snow. Thanks so much for opening your house to us.

The house meets with all expectations, clean and functioning. Layout with two bedrooms + bathroom upstairs, two bedrooms, two bathrooms downstairs. Kitchen-diner-lounge with plenty of space, well equipped. Sunroom is cosy, big garden. Perfect place for getting to know Scotland. Ian is very helpful and you get quick replies on any questions you may have. We'll be back!

We spent a great week in Nethybridge for our Easter holidays. The house had everything we needed and more, my 10-year-old particularly loved the swing in the garden and the table tennis and dart board in the garage. Don't miss the walk down the river into the village and we can highly recommend the Nethy House cafe. It's a great base for walkers and cyclists and we hope to visit again next year.

Due to Covid requirements, the airing of the house during a cold snap is a bit of a shock when you first enter. The house took a while to warm but once warm held the heat quite well. There are a few small maintenance jobs needed and some appliances defective but this doesn't deflect from what is a comfortable house, ideal as a base for exploring the Scottish Highlands

We really enjoyed our stay here. Although there were just 4 of us, it could have slept 8 comfortably. Spacious accommodation overall although kitchen area a bit tight for cooking Xmas dinner! We presumed the home owner uses the accommodation themselves is it was very well kitted out in the kitchen. Could have done with a couple of empty cupboards though for all our food so we shuffled things around a bit to create storage space. We were even able to use the sun room after our snowy mountain walks when the sun heated it that day. We did light the stove for winter cosiness. Would definitely recommend this accommodation and we would re book if ever back in this area which is just gorgeous. We were lucky with crisp bright winter weather with snowcapped mountains!

A great property for family or friends. A good location with walks from the door. Large garden with big sunny conservatory, could just sit there all day with a good book. Kitchen is very well equipped if you like cooking. A very homely property we loved it. Our second visit and we hope to be back. Thanks
