About this cabin rental

This is a three-bedroom log-built house set in woodland on the outskirts of the historic village of Kirkmichael, in the vale of Strathardle in the hills between Pitlochry and Blairgowrie.

It has a large kitchen/dining/living area with a well-stocked kitchen with oven/hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge & freezer and washing machine (plus a tumble dryer in the en-suite bathroom).

The living room includes ample seating around an open log fire, a TV with Free-sat channels and DVD/Blu-Ray player, plus CD player. There are books, games & DVDs on the shelves, so help yourself, and pictures and other personal touches to give it a sense of home. And the whole looks out through large french windows onto a paved patio, the fire pit with its log stools, and the open woodland beyond.

There are three bedrooms: a spacious master bedroom with a super-king bed (which can be detached to make two singles), a living flame fire for extra mood, and an en-suite bathroom (with under floor heating for your comfort); a twin room; and a bunk-bed room with additional pull-out bed (all full single-sized), plus further games & toys for the children. All have generous cupboard/hanging space.

There is an additional shower-bathroom off the main corridor.

Outside there is a large gravel driveway and car port with ample parking space (and more nearby). There is a paved patio area with a large picnic table, an outdoor fire pit, and also a small children's play house.

It's set in a 4.4 acre site with a mix of grass, rocks, trees and shrubs running down to a stream, shading over into a large area of open woods and moorland around.

A cottage in a dream location, perfect for peace and quiet.Sitting at the large patio door in the morning with a coffee and watching the deer is simply marvellous.Contact with the landlord, very nice and courteous. We can only recommend it to others.Thank you very much for giving us a great time.

Our first reaction on entering was that the cabin was amazing and had a lovely aura about it. Over the week the feeling didn't diminish. Half way between Blairgowrie and pitlochry it was the perfect location for exploring. Lots of wildlife......roe deer, dragon flies, mining bees, flying ants, frogs, wrens, buzzards......all added to the enjoyment of our stay. The weather was also fantastic and too hot for midges. I must admit, I was happy to go home and get a comfy seat but a small price to pay for perfection.Apologies for leaving the dishwasher to empty.

What an absolutely perfect place! The lodge had everything we needed for the big and little kids. It was warm and cozy. The kids playhouse in the garden and the burn at the bottom of the garden made their weekend. There were toys and DVDs. We will definitely come back!

Proper Scottish holiday.. no snow for Christmas, but 1/2 an hours drive is a skiing experience and snow for little ones to enjoy ..

Not a great place to stay apart from location. On arrival we entered and a stench of dampness came through the whole cabin. We never slept in any of the bedrooms because it was that bad. We even opened the windows for a whole day and it was still stinking. We spent 3 days sleeping on sofas which were not that great either. We had to keep the door closed between kitchen and the rest of the cabin to keep stench from the rest of the place.. definitely not worth over £200 a night. Was really looking forward to the place and was really disappointed. .. .

Very nice area and big, welcoming house, well equipped and cosy. We had a great time. If you are planning to stay there in the nearest future please note - freezer is full of ice cubes:)
