The Garage @ The Old Vicarage

The location of the Garage was good & a 10 minute walk brought you to a busy thoroughfare for buying provisions & a good selection of places to eat & drink, albeit it is an uphill walk back to the Garage, the area is called the Uplands after all! I particularly liked the electric security gates on the property which allowed me to park my motorbike in the knowledge it would be secure. It's good to have a self contained accommodation & it felt like stepping into your own little house.

As others have mentioned in previous reviews the ceiling height can be a bit restrictive due to it being a converted garage, but it does say that in the description & would not be the most comfortable for really tall people. Maybe a contrasting colour on the ceiling would alert you to the difference in height ? The kettle is a bit awkward to fill in the shower room due to the sink tap style. I found the shower water temperature unsatisfactory to set as I had to rotate the control back and fore initially to get the hot water selected & then it remained constant. Having made the initial booking through Booking.com (which I'm always happy with) I wasn't happy with the seemingly 3rd party involvement where you had to upload either a Passport or Driving Licence etc. and then be presented with extra costs for extra checkout time etc. On Booking.com I'm sure I had seen the checkout time as 11:00am whereas the 3rd party stated 10:00am & was requiring a £10 fee to change that. Mixed messaging!

Information on sheet in apartment did not correspond with information given online. Eg different codes for gate, different check out times. Query answered by AI not personally. Shower controls extremely difficult to operate. No relationship between control numbers and water temperature. Bathroom very small. Sink impossible to use to fill kettle.
