Good size for two people.
Close to the city centre.
Quite area.
Parking was not too difficult.
Was not told or saw it be mentioned on the other side of a door at the end of the corridor is the owners house.
Not told the heating can only be controlled with the timer and setting with the owners of the property in their house. Was annoying at some points as it was cold in the night after 11pm when my partner and I were still awake but heating was off.

The view was beautiful and it was conveniently located for my requirements.
Ok, I'm going to be objectively honest about my stay. Upon arrival, the key was not in the keysafe requiring me to knock on the adjoining property to request it. Upon gaining access to the property, an adjoining internal door to that property was unlocked and wide open. I can imagine for a single female traveler, that may have felt uncomfortable and made them feel vulnerable that somebody else could enter the property from within. This set-up meant that there was various noises coming from the adjoining property on an evening.
The property had an odour of dried / stale urine. I noticed that pets were welcome in the property and wondered if there had previously been an "accident" with a pet urinating in the flat. A previous guest had also made a note in the visitor's book alluding to an "off smell" with the bedding which was also present.
The property was very clean and tidy and reminiscent of an old Tyneside flat. The views from the bedroom and reception room were stunning. The property sits on a hill called "Constitution Hill". This hill is VERY steep and although manageable for a fitter guest, anybody with mobility issues would find it very challenging.
The kitchen was the size of a large wardrobe and there literally wasn't enough room to swing a cat (not that I tried). There was no washing machine which wouldn't be ideal for longer stays. It took me ages to find the cutlery which was in an inconspicuous drawer below a shelf. The host did provide a pint of milk, which was very appreciated, thank you.
The bathroom was minus a bath but there was a lovely big shower with overhead rain-style head. I was excited to try it out, but disappointed that the water only ran tepid / luke warm despite being cranked up to the hottest setting.
On the whole, the stay was OK. It wasn't amazing but then it wasn't very expensive either. I was comfortable for the time I was there but also glad to be going home.
