Our second stay at "The Lodge"
We had a fantastic second stay at The Lodge, which has had a bit of a refurb since our last visit some 15 months ago but has kept its charm. The Lodge is so comfortable and has everything you could possibly need (and more!), as well as a welcome pack including Biscuits, Muffins, Fresh Milk, Fresh Orange Juice and Bottled Water. Honestly, I don't think I have the space or memory to be able to list all the little "extras" you get at The Lodge that you simply don't get with other holiday rentals. Also, a parking space is a rarity in Holmfirth, so to have one included here is a real Godsend. Some people may have issue with the lack of kitchen facilities, but it didn't bother us in the slightest as we like to eat out when on holiday. There is Tea and Coffee making facilities, as well as plates and cutlery should you decide to have a takeaway.
The weather let us down for the second visit running, so a stay during the summer months is on the cards! 🙂

11/10 location and stay!
Absolutely beautiful lodge, in a perfect location. Cathy and George were so flexible in changing our dates due to sudden illness. The amenities provided were more than expected, you could turn up with just you clothes and have everything else you needed. The little things you wouldn't think, manicure kit, sewing kit, toothbrush and toothpaste kits. Velvetisers and also a Nespresso! Absolutely made the break with luxe.

Interesting town,would go back for a week.
The room was clean,tea coffee making was a nice touch, as we're the cake and biscuits. Problem was if we brought anything to try there was no tea plates knives or bigger glasses to use.

Perfect - would stay again!
The location was great for exploring Holmfirth and for visiting the Picturedrome for a concert (about 2 minutes walk!). The bed was very comfortable and so much thought had gone into making the property a home-from-home in every way. Holmfirth itself is a lovely small town with lots of interesting shops and passageways. The town itself is busy with main A roads running through it but the property was on a quiet side-street. There is great walking from the doorstep. We stayed 3 nights and didn't use the car at all.
Nothing. The only thing that people should be aware of is that the road where the property is located is very steep!

Outstanding Accommodation. Excellent Location.
We liked everything, this is outstanding accommodation, the bed was so comfy, the bed linen and pillows were very good quality as were the towels. Lovely shower with plenty of hot water and toiletries. The hosts were friendly and on hand if need be. The attention to detail was exceptional. The location was 5 mins walk from the centre of Holmfirth, free off street parking outside accommodation. Lovely and warm for a cold December night. Everything you need for a break. One of the best Booking.Com places we have stayed in. Thank you both we will be back.

Perfect base for exploring Holmfirth and environs
Great room in an excellent location. Very near everything. Warm and comfortable. The Hosts were on site and made us feel very welcome. The Lodge is like a free standing up market hotel room…very well equipped with added extras like charging cables. The little fridge was supplied with milk, water, and orange juice. There was also a coffee machine and a variety of teas.
My only suggestion would be a couple of hooks on the back of the main door on which to hang outdoor coats. It rains a bit in Yorkshire (!!) and we were reluctant to put wet coats into the wardrobe!

Holmfirth hideaway
A great cozy little base almost right in Holmfirth centre (Ideal if you're attending an event at the Picturedrome) hosted by very friendly and helpful people. The bed was warm and comfortable, WiFi worked and there were plenty of charging points for phones/gadgets etc. Really handy to have a fridge as well as the kettle and coffee machine , good selection of flavoured teas , the complimentary muffin was really tasty ! Lots of useful little extras such as sewing kit , picnic basket which although we didn't use them it was nice to know they were there. The info pack with the walking routes etc was really detailed. Shower nice and hot with good pressure.
Aching legs after tackling the hill back up to the lodge at the end of a night out ( good workout though ) .
