Cathy and George are very welcoming hosts. The Lodge is beautifully decorated and furnished. Cathy and George had thought of every little detail. It was very kind of them to leave delicious home made cakes. The Lodge is also in a central location, within walking distance of all local eateries, bars and shops. We have already booked to go back. We would strongly recommend the property and Holmfirth. This is by far the nicest place we have stayed at.

Very thoughtful provisioning, local pastried, quality coffee, hot milk frother a bonus - orange and chilled water great and cold cans of coke a nice 'after party pick-me-up'!
We couldn't find any faults with anything - for a petite abode, it was FULL of thoughtful touches and every need catered for.

Fantastic hosts, an immaculately clean, amazingly stocked room with far more stuff than any 5 star hotel we've ever stayed in. Cookies, a fridge with orange juice filtered bottles of water and milk, and a kettle, coffee machine, robes, umbrellas... the list goes on and on. Comfy bed, fantastic location right by the shops and restaurants. Your own little patio area to sit outside, and a gate directly into a park.
Getting into the allocated parking spot is a bit of a nightmare. You kind of need to back in through a narrow entrance on a mega-steep hill, doing your best to avoid a giant rock sticking out on one side, a parked car on the other. Much worse at night. Just take it slow and have someone guide you and you'll forgive all of that for the fantastic room.
